Airline Architect

Build your airline empire

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

New in 1.12: design your own cabins, from packed economy to lie-flat business. Plus 22 more US airports and alert settings you control. You start with $20 million and an empty hangar. Where you take it is up to you. Airline Architect is a deep, realistic airline-management sim. Buy or lease your fleet, open routes across a living world of real airports, hire crews, and grow a one-plane startup into a global carrier, all while the simulation never pauses. MATCH THE RIGHT AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT MARKET A genuine passenger-demand model makes route selection the whole game — a big jet on a thin route flies half-empty, and a small one leaves money on the table. Thirty-plus real-world aircraft, from short-field turboprops to the largest widebodies, each with real range, capacity, and economics. RUN A REAL OPERATION • Own your fleet — buy new, lease, or hunt the used-aircraft market. Every airframe ages, and old metal costs more to keep flying. • Crews follow real duty and rest limits — one crew can't fly forever, so staffing is a genuine decision. • Weather, mechanical failures, and crew shortages surface as live choices you resolve while every other aircraft keeps flying. The clock never stops. GO DEEP, NOT JUST WIDE • Establish hubs and build airport clubs to fortify a city, hold off competitors, and build loyalty — with a live payback view so you know if it's working. • Fund expansion with loans — or take your airline public, with a live share price, activist investors, and a board that can vote you out. • Reached the top? Scout rival carriers and acquire them — then survive the messy integration. A WORLD THAT FEELS ALIVE • 469 real airports across the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific — including exotic island strips only the right aircraft can reach. • Real seasons — hurricane season, winter storms, and monsoon shape where and when disruptions strike. • A day/night line sweeps across the map, and real airport night curfews close cities to late departures — a real cost of flying there. • Rival carriers contest your most profitable routes and fly fleets true to the real world. Speed time up to 25×, watch the revenue roll in, and keep the whole network flying. Build the sky. YOU DESIGN THE CABINS. Every aircraft now has a cabin you can change: first, business, premium economy, and economy. Pick a ready-made layout, from high density to a long-haul flagship, or fine-tune seat by seat. Each option shows what it would earn a day on that aircraft's route, after the real cost of every extra passenger and cabin crew member, and how long the refit takes to pay for itself. Pack a short busy hop, sell room on a long-haul trunk, and watch rivals: a cramped cabin loses riders on a contested route. Refit right away or at the next heavy check, or order new aircraft in the layout you want. Cabin data comes from US airline fare filings and real seat maps. Seat configuration is part of the full game. 22 MORE US AIRPORTS — 469 IN ALL Burbank, Long Beach, Ontario, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Fresno, El Paso, Tucson, Colorado Springs, Aspen, Jackson Hole, Wichita, Dayton, Knoxville, Greenville–Spartanburg, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Albany, Sarasota, Pensacola, Destin, and Key West. Each has its real runways and traffic, and the small ones behave like the real thing: 737s fit into Key West and Jackson Hole, while Aspen takes regional jets only. Long Beach, Burbank, Aspen, Jackson Hole, and Key West keep their night curfews. YOUR ALERTS, YOUR WAY Tap the gear in Alerts to choose which alerts slow the game down: breakdowns, crew problems, offers and bids, training, and aging aircraft. Alerts you turn off still wait in Alerts and Ops; they just won't interrupt you. The slow-down banner now links straight to these settings. Also in 1.12: • Every airport runs on its real local time, and the airport card shows it • Airlines you buy arrive with enough crews to keep flying • Release a crew you no longer need from the Crews tab • The Marketplace shows each aircraft's running cost and how thirsty it is on fuel, with real burn figures • Tap a crowded spot on the map, like New York, and choose which airport you meant • Airports without their own city photo now show an airport scene that matches the climate • Rate the game or send feedback from the start screen Fixes: • The upgrade screen's close button could be hidden behind the slow-down banner
