New: Ian Johnston's modern verse translation of the Odyssey — the reader's tenth translation and its first modern English rendering, aligned to the Greek using Homeric line numbers. Compare it beside the nine historical translations across all 24 books, with the same tappable concepts and museum art.

Passage notes now focus on 168 reviewed facts tied to specific passages across all 24 books. This update also includes editorial corrections to retellings, concept links, and artwork details. On iPhone and iPad, Skald now opens directly to the Odyssey. Usage analytics and crash diagnostics are optional, off by default, and controlled from About & Privacy, which also shows the app version and build number.
