more What's new in this version:
• Places: a new module for geofences and points of interest. Add or remove them from the Menu, from the new Places tab in Control Hub, or straight from a vehicle's details.
• Live Map: vehicles glide smoothly instead of jumping once a second, the camera follows the selected vehicle without hiding it behind the details card, and the sheet shows how long ago the last GPS fix came in. Tapping a single vehicle now flies to it and opens its details.
• Replay: a single speed control that fits smaller screens, and trips no longer join up across a change of tracker.
• Alerts: a compact feed that matches the web platform, alert sounds you can preview, an in-app tone with quick mute, and an All alerts switch. Silent mode is now saved and applied.
• Fuel: litres shown consistently, a clear difference between "no data" and a true zero, and refuel/drain events with their status.
• Reports: fuel totals count confirmed events only, and very large reports are refused up front instead of failing part-way.
• Safety: commands that change a device's connectivity now ask you to type CONFIRM for that device.
• Speed: the fleet opens from your last session instantly, and search stays responsive on large fleets.

FLEET LIST AND MAP
Four-letter registrations such as KMGT 358Z were cut short in the fleet list, so every vehicle sharing that prefix appeared under the same name. Plates now display in full.
A vehicle also keeps its own trailing suffix, so KMGT 358Z and KMGT 358Z FMB — two different vehicles — list separately instead of collapsing into one entry. Driver names are still removed from the title where they are stored inside the plate field.
The vehicle detail sheet on the live map was showing that field raw, which put the driver's name in the title. It now follows the same rule as the list.
Searching the fleet now narrows the list and the map to the same set of vehicles, and a plate can be typed with or without the space — "kmgt358" finds KMGT 358Z.
REPORTS, LICENCES AND FUEL HUB — platform-level logins
Reports did not work at all for a platform-level login. Mileage, Speeding and Status / Last Position showed an error code where the rows should have been, because such a login is not tied to a single fleet and the app had no way to say which fleet to report on. There is now a tenant picker, it is searchable, and the selection persists and drives every report.
The Licences tab reported that licences could not be loaded and showed four zeros and an empty list. The packs and the statistics had in fact loaded — one unrelated request failed and discarded them. Each section now loads independently, only a genuine failure raises a message, and the message gives the real reason. Licence packs also gained a search bar, matching the Devices, SIMs and Vehicles tabs.
Fuel Hub alert rules were permanently empty for a platform-level login and never reached the server. They now load once a tenant is picked, and scheduled report emails follow the same selection.
Where an action has to belong to exactly one fleet — creating a vehicle group or a mileage alert — the app now explains that in a sentence instead of surfacing a server error code.
CONTROL HUB
Forms opened as sheets clipped under the status bar and ran past the bottom of the screen, leaving the alert rule form's Create button partly out of reach. Alerts, Vehicles, Vehicle Groups and SIMs now respect the safe area, as Devices already did.
Secondary account links showed the wrong account name. The names and the identifiers were matched by position, which was never reliable; they are now resolved properly.
UPDATE PROMPT
The app now tells you when a newer version is on the App Store. It is advisory only — "Later" dismisses it and nothing is blocked. A dismissal lasts three days and is tied to that specific version, so dismissing one release does not hide the next.
2.12.6 Sep 23
This update fixes the vehicle details panel on the Live Map, which was
showing empty fields for vehicles that were actively reporting.
FIXED
• Devices tab now lists every tracker linked to a vehicle, with its IMEI
and live online status. It previously read "No device linked" even for
vehicles that were reporting their position normally.
• Trip time, daily distance, top speed, odometer and stop count now show
real values in the Overview tab instead of dashes.
• The driver assigned to a vehicle now appears in the details panel.
• Place names now come through faster and more accurately, and shared
location links carry a proper address.
Vehicle positions, speed and status on the map were always accurate —
this release fixes the detail panel that sits underneath them.
2.12.5 Sep 18
What's New in Venus Mobile:
• Enterprise Fleet Scaling: Seamless performance and real-time map tracking optimized for enterprise fleets of vehicles with reduced memory and data usage.
• Enhanced Reports & Fuel IQ: Introducing Driver Activity, Connectivity, After-hours Usage, and Fuel IQ analytics, plus automated email scheduling for group summaries and comparisons.
• Improved Fleet List: Re-introduced vehicle status grouping (Moving, Idle, Stopped, Inactive) with server-synced totals, customizable list ordering, and live data freshness indicators.
• Precision Telemetry & GPS Badges: Clear "No GPS Fix" indicators prevent confusing stale data with active locations; corrected internal battery voltage readings.
• Remote Commands & Security: Standardized GPRS remote command types, periodic ping interval configuration, and multi-step confirmation guards for critical relay actions and device locks.
• Stability Fixes: Virtualized Geofence and POI lists for instant rendering without lag.
2.12.4 Sep 17
Fixes
• Device actions now open. In Control Hub, opening a device and choosing
Send Command, Lock Config or Assign to Tenant previously did nothing at
all. All three now work.
• The same fault affected several pickers that would not open: choosing a
device when editing a SIM card, choosing vehicles or a geofence when
creating an alert rule, and choosing a vehicle when assigning a driver
in Driver Hub. All fixed.
• Clearer error when saving a point of interest from a platform-level
login, which previously showed a technical database message.
This release reworks how panels open across the app so this class of
problem cannot return.
2.12.3 Sep 11
Faster maps, safer immobilizer, and a proper device command console.
Geofences & POIs
• Added a search box to both the Geofences and POIs tabs — filter by name, zone type or category instead of scrolling thousands of rows.
• Rebuilt both lists so they load instantly. Accounts with very large POI sets no longer freeze or crash when opening the tab.
• Geofence overlays on the Live Map are now drawn only for the area you are viewing, so panning and zooming stay smooth on large fleets.
Immobilizer
• The confirmation dialog now names the vehicle whose engine you are about to cut or restore.
• You are warned before sending if the vehicle is still reported as moving — engine commands are refused above 3 km/h.
• Errors, including an incorrect password, are now shown inside the dialog instead of failing silently, so you can correct and retry.
• The immobilize button now looks clearly different when a vehicle is already immobilized, and the map refreshes as soon as the device confirms its new state.
• Added screen reader labels to every vehicle action button.
Control Hub — Devices
• New Send Command console: pick from quick commands (device info, GPS fix, I/O state, relay on/off, engine stop/resume) or type your own.
• Engine stop and restore now require your login password and are sent as proper engine commands, so they reach the vehicle instead of being accepted and ignored.
• Watch for the device's reply live, with a countdown, and get a clear result when a device cannot report back.
• Delete a device from the app, with a confirmation showing what happens to its licence seat.
• Configure e-lock settings and assign a device to a tenant, with clear inline success and error messages.
• Fixed a bug where saving a device could create a duplicate vehicle record.
2.12.2 Sep 10
Share links that actually work
Location share links were being generated against the wrong host, so
recipients landed on a "not found" page. Links now point at the correct web
app — and if your company is on a custom domain, they use your own branded
address.
New in this release
• Native share sheet — send a live tracking or location snapshot link
straight to Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack or anywhere else.
• WhatsApp sharing now opens the installed app instead of falling through
to the browser.
• Register New Device / Edit Device in Control Hub: integration type,
device model, license type, SIM operator and number, connectivity,
reporting interval and license expiry — with searchable dropdowns for
long lists. Link an existing vehicle or create a new plate inline.
• License types now show their AI tier: Basic Tracking, Basic + AI,
Advance Tracking + AI, Fuel Monitoring + AI and Video Telematics + AI.
• Map compass — appears when you rotate the map with two fingers, tap to
return to north and level the view.
Fixes
• The Share Location dialog no longer cuts off the Generate button on
smaller screens.
• Copying a link now tells you if it failed instead of failing silently.
• Emails for vehicles without a separate name no longer include an empty
"( )".
• Device form action buttons no longer sit behind the Android navigation
bar.
2.12.1 Sep 9
Live Map reliability
• Venus now checks what your device supports and picks the map engine that actually works on it — no more blank maps on phones without full Google Play services.
• Fixed a crash when opening Live Map.
• Stability and performance improvements.
2.12.0 Sep 8
• Live Map: focusing a vehicle now always returns you to the full fleet — the map
can no longer end up empty with no vehicles showing.
• Steadier marker drawing and general stability improvements.
2.11.0 Sep 2
This release is a major performance and stability update focused on the Live Map.
CRASHES FIXED
• Fixed the crashes that could close the app while the Live Map was open. These were caused by map marker images being rebuilt continuously and never released, which pushed the app past its memory limit.
• The app no longer blanks out when an unexpected error occurs. You now get a clear message and a "Try again" button, with your session preserved.
A MUCH SMOOTHER MAP
• Panning, zooming and following vehicles on the Live Map are dramatically smoother, including on large fleets.
• Vehicle and cluster markers are only redrawn when something has actually changed, instead of several times a second.
• Stationary vehicles no longer consume any drawing work at all.
FREEZES FIXED
• Fixed the long freeze that could occur when points of interest and geofences were switched on. All of them were being drawn at once, at every zoom level.
• POIs now appear as you zoom in, and only the ones in view are drawn.
MAP CONTROLS
• The + zoom button now works reliably.
• Vehicle groups separate correctly into individual vehicles as you zoom in.
• Tapping a group of vehicles now zooms into it and splits it apart.
BATTERY AND DATA
• Several screens kept refreshing in the background after you navigated away from them. They now pause when not in view, which reduces battery drain and mobile data use.
• The backup map engine is no longer loaded on devices that never use it.
FASTER STARTUP
• Removed unnecessary work from app launch, so the app becomes usable sooner.
2.9.0 Aug 29
This update is all about the live map.
• Vehicles no longer disappear when you zoom or pan quickly — the map keeps your fleet on screen through fast pinches and taps.
• Blank markers now fix themselves. Expanding a cluster or switching between light and dark mode no longer leaves empty pins behind.
• Sharper vehicle icons on every screen size.
• The vehicle list and the map now agree on live status, speed and last update, and the list opens instantly.
2.6.0 Aug 27
Live Map is now powered by the native Google Maps engine, giving you clearer road detail and faster panning and zooming. If a device can't run Google Maps, the app automatically falls back to a second map engine so tracking always works — no setup needed.
LIVE MAP
• Action buttons no longer overlap the map controls or the bottom bar, on any screen size
• The vehicle card can be dragged open from anywhere on the card, not just the small handle
• Spacing between the vehicle details, the stats row and the action buttons is now consistent
• Vehicle and cluster icons stay a steady size while zooming instead of growing and shrinking
• The map now follows your light or dark theme instead of the phone's system setting
• Fixed a shaded strip that could remain at the top of the screen after leaving the map
FLEET
• Vehicles, Active and Alerts are now shown as cards, and Active and Alerts stay tappable filters
• Improved vehicle telemetry and trip replay
THROUGHOUT THE APP
• Better contrast in the Menu tiles, KPI cards and charts, in both light and dark mode
• Faster SIM card list and smoother tab bar animations
• Clearer validation messages on forms
• Various layout fixes for small and large screens
2.4.0 Aug 26
• Map and vehicle controls now stay fully visible and tappable on every iPhone size. Zoom, layers, follow, trip replay and engine immobilization all remain reachable while a vehicle card is open.
• Vehicle device names no longer push the online/offline status off the card.
• Stability and performance improvements.
2.3.3 Aug 11
This update focuses on stability and polish:
• Fixed a crash that could happen when switching quickly between tabs
• Refined the bottom navigation bar's look and feel
• Improved dark mode contrast and readability across the map, dashboard, and menu
• Performance improvements for large vehicle/SIM lists
2.3.1 Aug 6
