αPal is a completely free camera geotagging companion. It sends your iPhone’s current location directly to your camera over Bluetooth, allowing the camera to write GPS coordinates into photos as you shoot.
Pair your camera once, enable Location Information Link, and αPal reconnects automatically when the camera becomes available. Location updates can continue in the background while your iPhone is locked, so your photos remain geotagged throughout a shoot.
Your location stays between your iPhone and your camera. αPal does not require an account and does not upload your location to a server or cloud service.
Compatible with the following cameras supported by Sony Creators’ App:
Cinema Line: FX3, FX2, FX30
Alpha: α1 II, α1, α9 III, α7R VI, α7R V, α7S III, α7 V, α7 IV, α7CR, α7C II, α6700
Vlog and compact: ZV-E1, ZV-E10 II, ZV-1 II, ZV-1F, RX1R III
Other: ILX-LR1
Some camera models require the latest system software. Compatibility may depend on camera firmware and regional availability.
Also compatible with older cameras that support the Imaging Edge Mobile Bluetooth location linkage feature; αPal detects this automatically:
