Lights Out is a pure logic puzzle you can pick up anywhere.
No account, no login. Open the app and a board is ready at once. On the subway, on a plane, or in any spare moment, there is just a clean grid of light and one simple rule.
How to play
Press a tile and it flips itself and its four neighbors — up, down, left and right. A light that was on turns off; one that was off turns on. Clear every light from the board to win. That is the whole rule. There is nothing to read and nothing to memorize — just the quiet question of where to press next.
Simple, yet deep
You can press anywhere you like, but pressing at random will never clear the board. Because one move ripples out to the tiles around it, order and position are everything. Behind that simplicity sits a piece of real mathematics — the same elegant structure that lets the app know, exactly, whether a board can be solved and in how few moves. You never need any of that to play; it just quietly guarantees every puzzle is fair.
Many levels, ordered gently
Stages run from easy to genuinely tricky, ordered so the difficulty climbs at a comfortable pace. Each level shows its minimum number of presses, so once you can clear it you have a new goal: do it in the fewest moves possible. Your best is saved for every level.
Stage editor — make your own
This is what sets the app apart. Tap cells to paint your own pattern of lights, then ask the app to check it. If the board can be solved, you can play it straight away and see its minimum moves. If it cannot, the app tells you honestly — not every pattern of lights can be turned off, and discovering which ones can is a puzzle in itself. Build your own toughest board and try to beat it.
A light finish
When the last light goes out, the whole board ripples with light, spreading outward like a wave. A small, quiet reward for a clean solve.
A pleasant feel
Every press answers with subtle haptic feedback. Lit tiles glow warmly, dark tiles sink into the background, and each flip animates smoothly, so the board always feels alive under your finger.

- What is the "minimum moves" number? The exact fewest presses that can clear that level. Match it for a perfect run.
- Why is my edited board "unsolvable"? Not every light pattern can be turned off. The editor only lets you play boards that truly can be cleared.
- Do my records stay? Your fewest-move records are saved on your device and survive closing the app.
