RoughCut 1.8 — smarter cuts and a colour-coded review timeline. - The editor now keeps borderline tangent cuts as review suggestions instead of cutting them (English). Fewer good sentences lost; the review list tells you what it was unsure about. - New Pro option: "Also export an annotated review timeline". Nothing is cut in it — every removal is a colour-coded clip (Retake, False start, Tangent, Filler, Noise, Silence, Suggestion) with the reason in its notes and a to-do marker. Import it into Final Cut Pro, search a role in the Timeline Index, ⌘A, Delete — a whole category ripples out at once. - Fine-tune → Video type (Explainer / Screen demo) and Edit intensity (Light / Standard / Heavy) pickers. - Loop and hallucination clean-up is more precise: silent unreliable spans are removed, spoken ones are kept for review. - Auto-detect language now votes across the longest speech regions of the recording, so a bilingual opener no longer locks the whole video to the wrong language. - Transcribe-only jobs now show the transcript as timestamped cues you can play back — exactly what the SRT contains — and drop whisper's well-known hallucination phrases (subtitle credits, canned outros over music), listing every removed phrase. After the free cuts, the one-time unlock keeps you cutting and Pro stays an optional subscription.

NEW — RoughCut speaks Arabic. The entire app is now available in Arabic with a full right-to-left interface — switch languages in seconds from the Welcome tour or Settings (English remains the default). Arabic footage also transcribes more reliably: language auto-detection now locks on from a solid stretch of speech, so a clip that opens with a short or noisy take can no longer flip the whole transcript to the wrong language.
