Penumbra Vault
Encrypted private vault
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Penumbra is a private, encrypted vault for the things you want to keep to yourself.
Everything is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your PIN — not even we can see it. No ads, no tracking, and we never hold your files hostage behind a paywall.
FEATURES
• Real AES-256 encryption, on your device
• Photos, videos, and any file type
• Secure notes for passwords and recovery phrases, typed on a private in-app keyboard
• Store contacts and remove them from your phone
• Decoy vault: a second PIN opens a separate, innocent vault
• Break-in photo: capture anyone who enters a wrong PIN
• Folders, each optionally protected by its own password
• Face ID / Touch ID unlock
• Encrypted sync across your devices — only encrypted data ever leaves your phone
Penumbra is built to be simple, honest and genuinely private.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
You can now put your vault photos and videos back into your camera roll. There is a Save to Photos button, and if anything goes wrong the app tells you exactly why instead of doing nothing.
Sharing or exporting a file keeps its original format, so HEIC photos from your iPhone and your videos come out untouched.
The developer, Oscar Rodriguez, indicated that the app’s privacy practices may include handling of data as described below. For more information, see the developer’s privacy policy .
