The available lead-in depends on how long the camera has been running. WATCH THE GAME, NOT YOUR SCREEN Use a suitable fence mount or bungee cord to secure your iPhone with the action in view. Keep your hands free between taps, stay present, and stop holding a phone in another parent's view. SKIP THE STORAGE AND EDITING MARATHON Keep short highlights instead of filling your phone with a two-hour recording and finding, trimming, and exporting the good parts later. Illustrative estimates: a two-hour 4K/60 HEVC recording at 440 MB per minute uses about 53 GB. A focused highlight pass might take 15 minutes: 10 minutes skimming and 5 minutes selecting, trimming, and exporting. Compare that with two minutes of saved highlights at the same quality and 18 seconds of tap-to-save interaction: about 98% less saved-video storage and hands-on time. These are example assumptions, not measured or guaranteed savings; actual results vary by settings, number of clips, and workflow. DECIDE AFTER IT HAPPENS Sideline Save keeps a rolling window ready. Once you know the moment was special, tap Record to keep the lead-in, then keep recording as normal and tap again when the play is over. You can also start recording before a play begins. Choose 5, 10, or 20 seconds of pre-roll and add optional post-roll for reactions and celebrations. Only the moments you choose become finished videos in Photos; closing the app stops capture. MADE FOR YOUR SIDELINE • Start with Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, or Football settings, or use Custom for other sports. Baseball works well for softball. • Remember capture settings separately for each sport. • Adjust zoom, video quality, frame rate, and storage format. • Browse, filter, play, favorite, and share saved highlights. • Trim the extra time before or after a play and restore the original for 30 days. PRIVATE AND PERSONAL No Sideline Save account, ads, or cross-app tracking. Saved clips go to your Photos library; Sideline Save does not upload your footage to its servers.
