New to Bolo? Your first lesson now opens as soon as you finish setting up: five quick phrases, so you're saying your first words right away. Finish it and your streak begins. Bolo shows you Day 1 and can send a friendly nudge to keep it going.

The Ganga Line now pulls in when you open the app: a new welcome, with your train arriving through the morning mist. New to Bolo? Try every language free for a week, offered right after you set up and after your first lesson. Script Trace's result card now shows your real score, so a letter that hasn't passed no longer reads Peak. Recording is more reliable right after your coach's clip plays. A fresh voice for the Perfect, Great and Good call-outs.

Your coach's spoken feedback now follows your score straight away, with no long pause after the call-out, and at a brisker pace. Spoken feedback works again for every language, including Gujarati. New voices for Assamese, Odia, Sindhi and Nepali lessons.

New: My Sentence. Bring a sentence you need to say, like a birthday wish for Nani or a toast at a wedding, and Bolo writes it in your language and coaches you through it, part by part. All-Access learners find a Your line stop in every zone from zone 2. Welcome to All-Access: a short tour of everything you unlocked. Last Call now comes once per zone, as the zone's final challenge. Faster, steadier speaking scores, and clearer topic pickers that tell you which topics unlock as you travel.

Lessons and games now fill the screen on iPad, the microphone starts more reliably in lessons, plus small fixes across the app.

Dress Bolo up! The Tailor has 24 new pieces: a festival sari, an ivory sherwani, a coral hoodie, jeans, 14 hats from around the world, and things for her to hold, like a diya or a lantern. She can wear an outfit, a hat and hold something all at once, and she wears them everywhere in the app. Plus smoother lip sync when she speaks.

Bolo has a whole new look. This is her finished 3D design, with new colours, a proper crest and wings that move with her. She does more, too: she dances when you pass a lesson, celebrates a perfect score, and reacts while you learn and chat. Her beak now moves in time with her voice. Before, it lagged a little behind. Hats from the shop, like the pagdi, now sit on 3D Bolo. No more flash of the old drawing while she loads. Gujarati lessons sound right again: every Gujarati word is now spoken by a voice that speaks Gujarati.

Bolo is in 3D now. She is a bird you can see all the way round, not a drawing. Her beak moves with her own voice while she talks, she wanders about the screen while you are thinking, and you can tap her to see what she does. She has learned seven dances, garba among them. Chat has been rebuilt around her. She is bigger, she never sits on top of the card you are waiting on, and she plays along when you tap her. Also fixed: a nod that made her head twitch sideways, and a rare crash when signing in with Google.

Fixes a rare crash that could happen if you tapped twice while a screen was opening. The microphone is also more reliable on older devices: if recording does not start the first time, Bolo now tries again by herself.

Set Bolo's speaking speed. Slow him down anywhere he talks, in chat and in lessons, and he stays that way. A calmer Bolo. He chirps once when you open the chat instead of on every reply, and he no longer brings up your chai while you are trying to practise. Your language stays the one you chose. An account could end up switched to a language you never picked; it cannot now. The microphone keeps listening. Holding to speak in chat could stop recording partway through a longer turn.

New ways to speak • Last Call: the train is at the platform. Say the right line before the doors close. • Answer Back: Chacha-ji speaks to you, and you reply out loud, in his own voice. • Bodo and Manipuri: your speaking is now scored in both. • New speaking-speed control: slow down the language you're learning while everything else stays at normal speed. Journey and stories • Fresh hand-inked art for every zone, and a new arrival film from your boarding pass. • Tap your answer and the story moves straight on, with your last choice shown above the next question. • A scene your language can't tell yet is skipped, so the story keeps going instead of stopping. • Leaving a stop takes you back to your map without replaying its film. Easier to use • Forgot your password? You can now reset it right from the sign-in screen. • Clearer English meanings for some phrases. • Audio no longer keeps playing after you leave a screen, and the ticket tear sound is quieter. • iPad: a better tab bar, steam on the chai stall, and gift buttons in one row.

The daily gift now always shows on your home screen, locked until you finish a lesson, instead of disappearing. Fixed a bug where stats, progress, and account info could fail to load for some learners. iPad: the tab bar now stays aligned with the content column instead of floating past its edge.

The daily gift is here. Practise on any day and a gift box turns up with Chai inside. Open it and see what you drew: some days are small, some are a lot bigger. Your streak sets the floor, so the longer you keep going, the better your worst day gets. All-Access opens every gift at double. That replaces the monthly Chai drop, and over a month it works out to a great deal more Chai. Three free plays on every game. Every game now gives you three plays before anything is asked of you, including the ones that used to be All-Access only. Try them all and find the ones you like. Buy game plays with Chai. Run out of free plays and you can now buy more with Chai, in three sizes, instead of being stopped at the door. Smoother drawing in Script Trace. Tracing a letter used to lag more the further in you got. The ink now keeps up with your finger. Storybook fixes. Bolo has a new face. The app icon is new: Bolo in his cap and scarf, the same bird you meet inside the app. Your home screen moves now. The boarding pass is a living platform with people walking it, and the locomotive puffs real steam across the card. The stats strip above it was rebuilt, so your streak, your XP, the phrases you have mastered and your chai each stand on their own. New to play: • Letter Match, a new game in the hub. Pair each letter with the sound it makes. • A letter stop on the journey, where you trace the script instead of speaking it, and coming back does not mean starting over. • A daily gift box on the home screen, with chai inside, and it grows the longer your streak runs. The journey map is alive. Every fare zone now has its own film playing behind the map, and it keeps running while you travel instead of stopping when you do. Chacha-ji's chai stall on your home screen is a film too, steam and all, and so is the platform on the Games hub. BOLO ON iPAD Home, Games and the Journey have been rebuilt for the bigger screen. No more phone layout floating in the middle with empty space either side. WRITING, PROPERLY Script Trace now checks HOW you write, not just where. In Hindi and Gujarati it follows the stroke order a letter is actually taught in, so one long scribble through the shape no longer passes. It tells you what went wrong, too. APPLE PENCIL Pressure-sensitive ink that thickens as you press, on a writing canvas nearly twice as large on iPad. A LIVELIER JOURNEY All six fare zones have new artwork, and the bazaar behind your line now moves when you stop to look at it. FIXES Bolo's turban is no longer cut off on the zone cards, and Chacha-ji's calls connect more reliably on a cold start.

Bolo has a wardrobe now. Spend your chai at the Tailor or the Station and give her something to wear. There are three to collect: a marigold pagdi with a peacock feather, a station master's cap with a little brass engine on the badge, and a chunky pink knit beanie. Whatever she has on, she wears it everywhere you go. Also in this version: Answer by swiping and circling, not just tapping. Share what you have learned with your family. Chacha-ji listens to what you actually said before he says goodbye. A locked lesson now tells you why, and takes you to where it opens. A smoother, lighter journey map. A new look, and Chacha-ji learns your language. • Chacha-ji now calls you in the language you are learning. He hears what you say, shows you what he heard, and pours a chai for every answer on the journey and XP on the games. • Your phone rings when he calls. • A new home screen: your boarding pass sits in its own Journey card, with your stops laid out as a row of stations. • A redesigned journey map: bigger zones with room to breathe, purple rails, numbered stops, a chalkboard for tracing and a storybook for stories, and the zone cards redrawn. • The ride to your current stop now passes each station on the way, so you can see how far you have come. • Trying a new language? Stops 2 and 3 of the first zone, tracing and a story, are now free to taste. • A fresh app icon. • Fixes: the zone card no longer covers your first stop, and the spelling under Chacha-ji's words now matches your phrase cards.

The journey got its station boards. • Your boarding pass on the home screen is now a carved station board, matching the zone signs on the map. Press the ticket and it tears off. • The map lost its header bar. The painting runs the full height of the screen, the zone sign floats above it, and the back arrow stays out of your way. • Stop cards slide in as you scroll. Bolo remembers you. • Bolo now carries what you have told him from one chat to the next, so you are not starting over every time. • He can also see how far along the line you are, which phrases you have mastered and how much Chai you have, so what he says fits where you are. • The chat screen tells you he does this, in his own words, on the screen where it happens. Fixed. • Bolo could get stuck on "Bolo is speaking" and never finish his turn. He does not any more. • The stop number on your home screen now matches the map. The two were counting differently. • The zone sign no longer covers the last stop of the zone above it. • The trackside signals are readable against the artwork again. Small things. • Your stats count up when the home screen opens. • Chacha-ji's stall now tells you what you can do there. • Picking a username is a proper moment, with a welcome when you save it. • Long station names shrink to fit instead of running off the card.

A rebuilt Journey map: pinned station boards for every fare zone, per-zone artwork that stays put while you ride, redrawn stop tags with bigger emblems, and a daily fact on every board.
