IQ Test: Reasoning Score
Intelligence test, logic quiz
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A proper reasoning test scored with item response theory, the way psychometricians score, not a countdown quiz. Free, no account, results kept on your phone.
IQ Test measures your reasoning across seven areas used by standard mixed IQ batteries: matrices and number grids, logic and letter sequences, spatial reasoning, numerical reasoning, classification, analogies, and verbal reasoning.
Every sitting draws a fresh test from a bank of 424 questions in 19 different formats, so no two runs are the same. Figure questions give six answers to choose from, as progressive-matrices tests do, and the bank includes paper folding, balance scales and logic puzzles. Questions ramp from easy to genuinely hard, and the hardest ones stack several rules at once, the way real progressive-matrices tests do.
Take the full 42-question test in 35 minutes, or a quick 21-question version. Everything is drawn right on your device, so the whole test works offline.
SCORING THAT RESPECTS DIFFICULTY
Your score is estimated with a 1-parameter logistic (Rasch) model, the same family of item-response model used by real tests. Each question sits at one of five difficulty levels, and because ability is measured against those levels rather than as a raw percentage, different random tests give comparable scores.
NINETEEN QUESTION FORMATS
- Figure matrices: 3x3 grids built from several parts, with rules for shape, size, shading, number and position stacked across the rows, and six answers to choose from
- Number grids
- Figure series and letter series
- Spatial rotation of mirror-image figures, and paper folding
- Number series across many rule families, shown with enough terms to pin the rule down
- Balance scales: work out what weighs the same
- Numerical word problems: rate, ratio, age, clock and work
- Classification: figural and numerical odd-one-out
- Analogies: figural, numerical and verbal
- Verbal reasoning: ordering, syllogisms, if-then logic, codes and arrangements

FREE, AND WHAT IS NOT
The test is free and stays free: all 424 questions, the full 42-question sitting and the quick 21, your IQ, your percentile and the breakdown across all seven areas. There are no ads and no subscription.
The full report is a one-time purchase, unlocked once and yours for every test you take afterwards. It adds every answer worked out with the rule written in plain English, your score with its 95% confidence interval, a sub-score for each of the seven areas with the range it actually pins down, your history on one chart, and a certificate.
ON A WIDER SCREEN
On an iPad, or an iPhone turned sideways, the test opens as two pages: the question on one, the answers on the other, the way the paper booklets it imitates are laid out.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
A rebuilt test. 424 original questions in 19 formats, made the way professional reasoning tests are made: matrices built from several parts with six answers to choose from, figure series, paper folding, balance scales and logic puzzles. A solver checked every question for exactly one right answer, and the vocabulary and trivia questions are gone.
Your result now marks every question right, missed or skipped, free, and works out two of your misses.
The certificate is new: put your name on it, save it to Photos or share a PDF ready to print.
