Every story in FIVE includes three layers. A sharp summary that tells you what happened and why it matters in under one minute. A key data point — one precise number that puts the story in perspective. A full in-depth analysis written at the level of the Financial Times, with named actors, precise dates, historical context, and concrete implications.
BREAKING NEWS
FIVE monitors breaking news around the clock. When a truly major event occurs — a war, a market crash, a historic political decision, a natural disaster — FIVE sends an immediate flash notification, separate from the daily edition. This feature is reserved for events that genuinely cannot wait until 7am. Not every news story. Only the ones that change everything.
