Make Marklet yours with community themes including Nord, Catppuccin, and Dracula. Find them in the theme browser, preview their colors, and choose your favorite. Marklet 1.8 also brings a formatting toolbar, flexible editing modes, and smoother table editing. This update includes the improvements released since App Store version 1.2. Themes and colors Browse community themes with previews, screenshots, search, and popularity sorting. Install themes to keep them available, then choose which one to use. Your custom color changes survive switching themes and updating them. Save your current colors as a named custom theme. Marklet Warm offers a warm palette, and the native color picker supports a color square, wheel, opacity, HEXA, and RGBA values. Optional theme typography reports unavailable fonts and their fallbacks. Theme colors now reach document headers, tables, native previews, and the command palette. Tables can also use neutral colors. Edit your way Choose Live Formatting, True WYSIWYG, Source, or Reading, with up to three configurable mode buttons and shortcuts. Leave unused positions set to None. With two modes enabled, Command E and Command Shift E both switch between them. The themed formatting toolbar can float at the top or bottom, or appear near selected text. Format emphasis, headings, lists, links, tables, code, math, images, and callouts. Configure toolbar visibility separately for each enabled mode. True WYSIWYG keeps typed punctuation literal and carries active formatting forward as you type. Copy preserves formatting at selection boundaries. Paste, Paste and Match Style, and Paste as Literal Text provide different ways to bring text into your notes. Smoother tables and editing Insert Table offers a grid size picker. Table columns grow into available space, then wrap without shrinking your font. Individual cells have a width limit, rows grow as you type, and large tables are more responsive. Cell editing preserves padding and alignment. Shift and the arrow keys select text for copying. Typing with cells selected starts in the table, and dragging near either horizontal edge scrolls to extend your selection. Revealing source clears the rendered grid cleanly. Link and image editors have separate text and destination fields. Math editing keeps the surrounding delimiters out of the field. Lists keep their indentation and undo steps, bullets align with checkboxes, and leaving inline code no longer carries the wrong style forward. Nested formatting markers and command palette actions behave more consistently. Setup Onboarding has native previews of your enabled modes and can be reopened anytime from Help or Settings. Review Setup starts with your current choices. The themed What's New window can also be reopened from Help. Finder previews Quick Look follows your theme and offers a choice between formatted previews and styled Markdown with its markers visible. Finder previews remain read only. Requires macOS 14 or later. Runs natively on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. (Also sorry for the delay, updating through the app store is painful.)

Marklet 1.2 Saving and safety Natural undo: Cmd+Z steps back the way you typed, a burst at a time, and never fights the save. Quiet saving: the "changed by another application" alert no longer appears on your own saves. Unsaved changes backup: a private copy of unsaved work is kept and offered back after a crash, with a side by side View Changes before you restore. Separate toggle in Settings. Version history for manual saves: browse earlier versions in Marklet, with preview, arrow keys, and a confirmation before restoring. A "Saved" confirmation under the title with Auto Save on, and the "Edited" label now renders reliably. Editing and styling Bold italic text reveals every marker with the caret inside, and code inside bold or italic keeps that emphasis. Choose text, background, selection, caret, and link colors. Continuation lines inherit their block's indent and spacing; foreign line endings survive list and table edits. Shortcut recording refuses reserved and duplicate shortcuts; custom Cmd number bindings take priority over tab switching. Plus a batch of fixes for freezes, images, and styling staleness.

Marklet 1.1 Saving on your terms Marklet saves when you ask it to, and warns you before closing anything unsaved. Prefer the way most Mac apps work? Turn on Auto Save with Versions in Settings and Marklet writes as you type, keeping earlier drafts available from File then Revert To. Files changed outside Marklet Edit the same note in another app and Marklet notices. When both copies changed it shows you exactly what differs and lets you keep yours, take theirs, or combine them. Changes that do not overlap merge on their own. Linked notes Write two square brackets around a note name to link it. Links show whether the note exists, and clicking one opens it in a tab. Click a link to a note you have not written yet and Marklet starts it for you, named and ready. Faster with long documents Very long files now highlight progressively, so typing stays responsive while the rest of the document catches up. Picking up where you left off Marklet can reopen the documents you had open when you last quit, even when macOS is set to close windows for every other app. Intel Macs Marklet now runs natively on both Intel and Apple silicon. Also in this release New tabs open in properly. Reading Mode bug fix. Ordered task lists keep their alignment. Settings explains what the substitution options actually do, and you can choose whether Marklet opens a blank document at launch or restores your last session.
