Dark mode is here, and it follows your phone. Plus the Vertex Index: one score from 0 to 100 that shows how your training is really going.
Most training apps are built to keep you opening them. Vertex is built to tell you what you actually did.
LOG A SESSION IN SECONDS
83 exercises with illustrated instructions and form cues, or add your own. Supersets, drop sets, warm-up sets, and timed holds for planks and carries, because a four-minute plank is not one rep. A rest timer, kg or lbs, and a log that keeps working with no signal and syncs when you are back.
SEE THE MUSCLE, NOT JUST THE NUMBER
Every exercise carries a curated muscle map, down to the individual head: front, side and rear delts, upper traps against lats, adductors against abductors. An anatomical figure shades what your week actually trained, so an imbalance is something you can see now instead of something you find out about in six months.
ANALYTICS THAT DESCRIBE, NEVER PRESCRIBE
Weekly sets per muscle against the range the research supports. Your rep-range and intensity mix. A DOTS strength score from your squat, bench and deadlift. An overload rate and a least-squares trend for every lift, so a block that ends in a deload does not read as a collapse. Session length given as a median with its coverage stated, because an average session is one nobody trained.
PROGRESS YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ
A consistency heatmap of your training year. Next targets on your main lifts. A muscle balance read on where your volume is really going.
A FEED OF PEOPLE LIFTING
Follow the people you train with. Kudos, comments and photos on real sessions, with the full breakdown attached. Share a session with no photo and it draws itself as a map of the muscles you worked. A private account and follow requests whenever you want them.
YOUR GYM, ON THE MAP
Clubs worldwide, rated by the people who actually train there, and leaderboards that compare like with like.
ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
A widget for the week, and a Live Activity that keeps your set and your rest clock on the Lock Screen.
WHAT VERTEX DOES NOT DO
No ads. No trackers, no advertising SDK, no IDFA, nothing sold to anybody. Free, with nothing held behind a paywall.
Train. Log it honestly. Watch it move.
Ratings & Reviews
New in Vertex 1.3
• Dark mode. Vertex now follows your phone's light or dark setting. Prefer one look? Pick it in the app under Settings > Appearance.
• Vertex Index. One score from 0 to 100 on your Progress tab that shows how your training is really going. It's on your home screen widget and in your Sunday recap too.
• A smarter coach. Recommendations tell you what to work on next, and why.
• A cleaner look. Redesigned profiles, a quicker setup for new athletes, and a body map where darker simply means more work.
• Plus fixes and small improvements throughout.
