Level up. Every puzzle you solve now earns XP, and every new level gets its own celebration screen, with lights, a burst of shards, and the ranks you climb on the way. Milestone levels and each new rank pay Ciphers. If you have been playing for a while, your level is already waiting for you, worked out from the puzzles you have solved. New, and entirely optional: daily leaderboards. Each difficulty gets a fresh board every day. Your score counts the letters you solve and the wrong ones you try, against the time the puzzle was actually on screen, so putting your phone down never costs you. You appear only as a random codename, nothing about you or your device is shared, and leaving the boards deletes every score you posted. Find them on the stats screen after a daily, or in Settings. Fairer dailies: Easy and Medium now start every player on the same letters, so nobody gets a head start by luck. Also fixed: tap and keystroke sounds no longer play twice, skip, or come out clipped.

Kids Mode has had a proper overhaul. Every one of the 233 kids puzzles now carries its own clue, so a stuck child gets a riddle or a fill-in-the-blank instead of a frequency chart. The keyboard defaults to QWERTY, the layout children already meet at school and on a phone. Kids Mode also keeps its own colors, background and music separately from the grown-up game, and every cosmetic is unlocked and free there, so nobody can spend Ciphers they did not earn. Fixed: the game could stop responding after an ad on the solve screen. It looked normal but ignored every tap until you force-quit. If that happened to you, this is the update that fixes it, and I am sorry it took a version to catch. Share your result. Solve the daily and tap Share result for a card you can post anywhere. Report a problem, from inside the game. Settings, then SUPPORT. No email client, no account, no forum. Also fixed: dictating a bug report no longer repeats what you just said, and Kids Mode now remembers how far through the puzzles a child has got.
