Bug fixes - Fixed an issue where regular enemies could appear during the WARNING that plays just before a boss. - Fixed an issue where the item slots stayed hidden for a while after clearing an UNDERGROUND stage and returning to the surface.

Bug fixes - Fixed an issue where starting UNDERGROUND mode while an adventure was paused could show the wrong items. While paused, please choose CONTINUE or NEW ADVENTURE first. - Fixed a rare issue where resuming with CONTINUE could place you over a pit. - Around twenty smaller display and behaviour issues have also been fixed. Bug fixes - Fixed an issue where opening the shop on the title screen while an adventure was suspended (Adventure Bookmark) could display items you did not actually own. - In that state it was also possible to sell items that had already been used up during the run, which incorrectly increased your coins. This has been fixed. - Your suspended save data itself is not affected. You can continue any existing Adventure Bookmark exactly as before. This update contains the fixes above only. Nothing about how the game plays has changed.

- Most of the artwork has been redrawn The shop interiors and the farewell scene, the standing soba stall, the strawberry shortcake, the manju, the underground crone's shop and the Piyo Flash cut-in (including the eye close-up) have all been redrawn. Her face, her age and the pixel texture are now consistent from scene to scene. - Ninja outfit The standing pose was slightly too orange, so it now matches the walking and jumping frames. - Pipe rooms When your pouch is full, you can now swap an item you are carrying instead of having the pickup sold automatically. - Balance The cap on enemy speed in later rounds has been raised a little, and the diving "Akabane" now appears gradually more often as the rounds go on, so the late game keeps its edge. - Fixes The "you cannot afford it" artwork sometimes did not appear. New boss: the Dark Scarecrow! Stomp its head to deal damage — but linger above it and straw spikes will burst upward, so keep moving. Deep into a run, a crimson bird called the Red Diver now takes aim and dives straight at you. Added new background music.
