Revela is a film camera that lives in your phone — not a filter, a whole ritual. Every roll starts in a humming mint fridge stocked with film boxes from across the decades: slide stocks with reds like nothing since, warm drugstore color negative, panchromatic black & white, motion-picture stock that loads as an honest-to-goodness movie reel.
THE HONEST WAY
Shoot in Honest Mode and there is no preview, no second-guessing, no switching stocks mid-roll. You get a viewfinder, a wind lever, and a frame counter. Finish the roll, rewind, and mail it off to the lab — then you wait, the way everyone used to. Rush it in an hour, let it run overnight, or send it away for days. When your envelope comes back, you flip it over, pull the seal, and meet your photographs for the first time. (In a hurry to experiment? Casual mode keeps the look and skips the wait.)
REAL FILM FIDELITY, FULL RESOLUTION
Revela develops from RAW capture with per-stock characteristic curves, layered grain, halation, and bloom — the best of film, not a cheap imitation of it. Your finished prints are premium full-resolution lab scans that land in your Photos library.
MOVING PICTURES TOO
Cine stocks shoot fixed-length reels at 24 or a Super-8-style 18 frames per second, developed frame by frame with the same care — with optional warm vinyl-character sound.
A PLACE, NOT AN APP
Your rolls live in a studio you'll want to visit: shelves of photo boxes down a corridor, a wall calendar with reveal days circled in pen, a radio that plays, plants that grow the more you shoot, and — eventually — a dog underfoot. Keep shooting and you may earn your way into the lab itself, a safelight-red darkroom where you can develop photos from your own library into any stock, trays and agitation and all.
