Closby now knows places in the largest cities across Europe and beyond. Missing a venue? Add it where you stand and we'll review it. Places show how lively they are right now, and one filter per tab now works on both the list and the map. Events show when they're about to start, can list an entry price and their language, and show times in the event's own time zone. Private events show only the area until you're in. Places on the map now appear as soon as you open it. Event chats show "You" for your own messages and no longer count them as unread, and a cancelled or finished event no longer looks live. Creating an event is easier: the date picker only offers valid times and the number pad no longer hides the field. Plus many smaller fixes to chats, events and privacy. Enjoying Closby? Events are here. Create a meet-up at any venue nearby or at a point you drop on the map, pick what it is — a run, coffee, board games, a concert — and people around you can see it and join. Keep it open, or approve each person who asks. Everyone going shares one group chat that lives for as long as the event does. Nearby now has three tabs — People, Places and Events — each with its own filters, and events show up on the venue page and on the map with the time and a lock when approval is needed.

Thousands of new places across Warsaw: cafés, restaurants, bars, clubs, gyms and sports venues, parks, hotels, malls, libraries, arcades and escape rooms. Every place now shows an icon for its type, and the highlighted card on Nearby appears only when you are at a venue or close enough to check in. Check-in suggestions fire only when you actually arrive somewhere, plus stability fixes for the latest iOS.

Check-in suggestions now work the way they should: when you arrive at a venue with the app closed, Closby can ask "Are you at this venue? Check in?" right when you get there — and never guesses the wrong place. We also fixed a bug where the chat list could show your own last message instead of the newest one, plus other fixes and performance improvements.

This update makes the app feel smoother and more responsive, especially switching between tabs. We fixed a bug where changing the distance filter in Nearby didn't update how many people you'd see, and a bug that could check you out of a place while you were still there. We also made general performance and reliability improvements.
