Libraries Gather folders from any of your sources — the NAS, the NFS export, the Apple TV itself — into one named collection that opens as a single grid. Pick an icon and it names itself. Mark a library private and it asks before it opens on a shared television. MKV, the native way MKV and WebM are repackaged as they stream and handed to the Apple TV's own player, instead of a separate engine bolted on beside it. Nothing is re-encoded. HDR10 and HLG travel the same route your MP4s already did, audio goes out through the system, and the app is a fraction of the size it was. A new engine for SMB shares Guest shares connect without a password again, and a server that stops answering part-way through a film no longer takes the app down with it. What's gone AVI, WMV, FLV, MPG and MPEG no longer play, and neither do DASH manifests — they relied on the engine that has been removed. Remuxing them to MKV or MP4 keeps the original video and audio exactly as they are. MP3 soundtracks inside MKV are out too. Subtitles built into an MP4 still appear in the track menu. An .srt beside a video is not picked up in this version, and subtitles inside MKV do not survive the repackaging — restoring both is the next piece of work.

Playback that doesn't stop Video could freeze part-way through a film and only start again if you pressed pause and then play. That's fixed. When a share stumbles mid-stream, JadePeak now notices, picks the stream back up on its own, and carries on — no reaching for the remote.
