One rule in every game: no looking at the screen. Put your headphones on and follow the sound.
Earcade is an arcade you play with your ears, not your eyes. Every game was designed for blind and low-vision players and is fully compatible with VoiceOver: none of them ask you to look at the screen, and all of them are played by following sound and vibration.
PLAY WITH HEADPHONES
Most games rely on directional sound. Is the car coming from your left, is the enemy jet straight ahead, which ear is the signal clearing up in? Headphones make the direction unmistakable.
THE GAMES
Maze Escape
You are a cat lost in a dark maze, and the bell on your collar chimes with every step. Swipe to move step by step. If you lose your way, press and hold the screen — the cat waiting at the exit meows from the direction you need to go.
Traffic Monster
You are driving the wrong way and cars are coming straight at you on a three-lane road. Whichever side the engine sound comes from, that lane is taken; swipe left or right to slip into the empty one.
Hunter Fish
You are a small, hungry fish in a dark ocean: eat or be eaten. Drag your finger and your fish follows. Start with the smallest ones; as you eat you grow, and the mid-sized and then the big ones become fair game. If the tension sound rises, a fish you cannot eat is closing in — get away. Eat them all and the ocean is yours.
Back To The Sky
The ground is far below and you are climbing from cloud to cloud. The cloud above you hums as it swings left and right; the moment the sound is equal in both ears, tap the screen and your star jumps and grabs on. If the phone starts to vibrate, the cloud you are standing on is breaking apart — jump again before you fall.
Piano
Play freely, repeat the notes you hear, or learn a song from start to finish. Notes flow as you move your finger across the screen.
Pong
A ball bounces from wall to wall in a dark arena and you are the last line of defence. Move your finger across the bottom half of the screen and the paddle follows. Track the ball by sound: whichever ear it rings in, that is where it is. Miss it and the game is over.
Signal Hunter
Midnight at the front, and you are the soldier at the radio. The enemy's messages are buried in static. Slide the two edge bars to hunt for the frequency: the closer you get, the quieter the crackle in that ear becomes, and it falls silent when you lock on.
Cannonball on Deck
Gold coins are scattered across a pirate ship's deck, with bottomless holes between them. Hold the phone flat and tilt it gently; the cannonball rolls that way. Press and hold the screen and the nearest coin rings out its position, while the holes hum. Collect them all without falling in.
Air Combat
You are in enemy airspace and you are all that is left of your squadron; jets keep coming in waves. Hold the phone upright and tilt it left and right to steer. When the enemy's engine sounds equal in both ears it is straight ahead — tap to fire.
ACCESSIBILITY
• Full VoiceOver support: in-game gestures keep working while VoiceOver is on
• Built-in Accessibility Mode: the app's own voice, with adjustable speech rate
• Critical information is carried by haptics as well
• Turkish and English
• Open any game straight from a Siri shortcut
DARK MODE
Some games have a dark mode: the screen goes completely black and sound is all you get. A real test for sighted players too.
