Satellite view, a rebuilt topographic map, and one thing to check before your next trip. SATELLITE VIEW Tap the satellite button on the map to swap the topographic basemap for aerial imagery. Contours, roads, boundaries, and labels stay drawn on top, so you keep your bearings. It's free, and it's off by default. Satellite imagery streams online only. It is never stored in downloaded regions, and where there is no connection the topographic map shows in its place. A REBUILT TOPOGRAPHIC MAP The basemap is now built and hosted by SGS from open data: shaded relief and 20 m contours from bare-earth elevation, BC forest tenure and oil & gas resource roads, recreation lines, parks, and bedrock geology. PLEASE RE-DOWNLOAD YOUR OFFLINE REGIONS Because the basemap changed, regions saved by an earlier version no longer match what the app draws, so MinFinder clears them. You'll be warned before it happens. Re-download the ground you need while you still have a connection - not at the trailhead.

Offline maps • Fixed a crash that could occur while downloading an offline map region. • Tap a saved region to see exactly which area it covers, outlined on the map. • The estimated tile count in the region picker is now accurate. It previously read about four times lower than the number of tiles actually downloaded. • Tidier region list: the saved-region cards are more compact. Map • Individual occurrence markers are back to their original size, so single showings are easier to pick out from clusters. About • The marker legend now doubles as a glossary — tap any status to read what that MINFILE classification means. • Added a direct link to the BC MINFILE database, full basemap attribution, and a note clarifying that SGS MinFinder is an independent app. • Corrected the map engine credit. Elsewhere • New app icon, and the splash screen now fades into the map. • Removed a physical-activity permission the app never needed.
