Home and the shopping list both got a proper rework this update, alongside a redesigned Recipes screen and a few genuinely new ways to plan. HOME • Rebuilt around "what's happening today" instead of a settings form, tonight's meal and quick actions come first • Your week is now a short summary (supermarket, budget, household) with everything else moved to a dedicated settings screen • Surprise Me renamed to Inspire Me, with a short caption under it and Genie explaining what each one actually does RECIPES • Full redesign: search and results come first, filters and sorting tucked behind a single toolbar instead of a wall of chips • All / Favourites / Recently viewed tabs • Add recipe is now one button with a proper menu, matching the rest of the app, not a native system prompt • "Not a normal week?" presets for things like being unwell, a new baby, or wanting to batch cook and coast through a busier week SHOPPING LIST • Redesigned around actually shopping with it: budget and progress up top, checked items settle to the bottom of their category as you go • Add an item (name, quantity, category) straight onto this week's list, it slots into the right aisle immediately, not a separate section • Bulk actions (mark all, clear checked, reset) moved behind a menu with confirmation, so they're not one accidental tap away • Categories you've finished now show as genuinely complete, not just collapsed DATA QUALITY • Reviewed the whole recipe library for vague or missing instructions, several hundred recipes tightened up with real timings and clearer steps • Corrected allergen information across hundreds of recipes, so dietary filtering is more reliable throughout the app As always, everything stays on your device. What's New Browse now lets you filter recipes by cuisine, so you can find exactly what you're craving faster. Starting next week's plan now uses a simple slide-to-confirm, replacing the old button and pop-up confirmation. It's also fully accessible with VoiceOver, so it works with a double-tap for anyone who uses it. Fixed an issue where the Genie prompt ("What do I want to eat?") wouldn't show properly when looking ahead to next week's plan.

New Batch cook, properly. Tell Larder what you bought in bulk, a big pack of chicken thighs, a bag of onions, whatever it is, and it’ll find batch-friendly recipes that actually use a proper amount of it. Pick as many as you like and add them as their own standalone cooking sessions, alongside your normal plan, not in place of it. See everything you’re batch cooking in one place from Plan, mark sessions as cooked, and remove them when you’re done. Hands-free Cooking Mode. Say “next,” “back,” or “repeat” to move through a recipe without touching your phone. Entirely on-device, nothing is sent anywhere to make it work. Import a recipe from a photo. Take a photo of a recipe card, a cookbook page, or a printout, and Larder will read the text and pre-fill a new recipe for you to check over and save. Also entirely on-device. A proper look at tonight. Home now leads with what’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner right now, based on the time of day, with one tap through to the full recipe, straight into Cooking Mode, or to mark it as cooked. Cooking streaks. Keep marking meals as cooked and Home will quietly keep count. Week in review. Once a week actually ends, see a short, honest summary, how many nights you actually cooked, nothing gamified, just what happened. Automatic week rollover, if you want it. Off by default. Turn it on in Profile and Larder will start your next week on its own once the current one has genuinely passed, rather than waiting for you to tap “Start next week.” Swipe to check things off. In your shopping list, swipe an item right instead of tapping, the same gesture as Mail or Reminders. Whole aisles now tidy themselves away automatically once everything in them is found. A tidier Home and Profile. Once your week is planned, the settings and day-by-day grid collapse into a single line, tap to reopen if you need to change something. Profile’s sections got the same treatment, plus a visual refresh to match the rest of the app. iPad support. Larder now properly fills the screen on iPad rather than sitting in a stretched phone-sized column. Fixed Allergen-free filters (gluten-free, dairy-free, and so on) can now be combined, they were incorrectly limited to one at a time. Adding a baby to your household now automatically switches on weaning meals, rather than requiring a separate manual step. Toggling desserts or weaning meals on or off now updates your week’s cost immediately, instead of waiting for a manual rebuild. Fixed an issue where a batch-cooked recipe could show the wrong portion size when opening its full recipe page. Fixed inconsistent button sizing on the Home screen.

New “What’s Cooking” view. 1. Allergen-free filters couldn’t be combined with each other in profile. Gluten-free and dairy-free (and the other allergen-free options) were incorrectly treated as mutually exclusive, selecting one silently deselected any other in the same group. Fixed so that group specifically allows multiple selections, since those are genuinely simultaneous needs, not alternatives. 2. “Include weaning meals” didn’t auto-enable when a baby was added. There was already logic to auto-disable it when the baby count dropped to zero, but nothing did the reverse. Fixed so adding a first baby now auto-enables weaning meals (still manually overridable afterward). 3. Toggling “Include desserts” or “Include weaning meals” didn’t update the shown cost. The slots were being correctly activated behind the scenes, but nothing told the plan to actually rebuild into them, so the total stayed stale until a manual rebuild. Fixed so both toggles (and the new babies-triggered auto-toggle) rebuild the plan live whenever one already exists.
