Helpings: Shared Recipe Box

Meal Plan & Grocery List

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Helpings gives your household one shared kitchen: every recipe, the shopping list, and the week's plan, live on every phone. One recipe box for everyone. Your partner saves a recipe, you see it instantly. Ratings, notes, folders, and cook history live on the recipe, so "we made this and doubled the garlic" is still there next month. Bring recipes into one place. Paste a supported link, browse inside the app and tap Import, or photograph a cookbook page, recipe card, or handwriting. Multi-page recipes work too: photograph the ingredients and method pages, then review one combined recipe. Keep the source recipe, scale when you need it. Helpings preserves the recipe and its original yield as written. Change the serving scale on the recipe screen for tonight without overwriting the saved source. A shopping list that stays out of your way. Ingredients land on a shared list, sorted by the aisles of your store, in your store's order. Quantities merge instead of stacking ("1 onion" plus "half an onion" becomes one line). Check things off on either phone and both update live. Plan the week in minutes. Drop recipes onto the week, then build the shopping list from the plan in one tap. Cook Mode. Big type, the screen stays awake, timers pull straight out of the steps, and finishing a cook logs it to the recipe's history. Snap a photo of how it came out and it stays with the recipe. Switching from Paprika? Import your whole box from a .paprikarecipes export, photos included, free. Your data stays portable. Export your kitchen data as a file and restore it later. Helpings is built to make moving in and moving out possible. Built for real households: partners, families, roommates. One kitchen, everyone helping.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

Bug fixes, found by running real recipe boxes through the app and reading what came back. Scaling a recipe no longer changes a bake time, and "4 to 6 servings" doubles to "8 to 12". Amounts written as words ("One 6-ounce can") are read properly. Shopping rows add up across units, and no longer get named after an adjective. About 200 more grocery items know their aisle, including ones with accents in their names. Filled pastas now carry a wheat warning. Imported recipes no longer carry the source site's prices into your ingredient names. A failed import no longer uses up part of your hourly import allowance.
