React and reply to comments You can now react to any comment — like, love, celebrate or pray, the same four a post has — and reply to it directly, with your reply shown underneath. Whoever wrote the comment is notified when you answer them. This works on every comment in the app: news, events, births, marriages, deaths, articles, the gallery, the channel, and the family feed.

Relation calculator: the answer first The result used to show the same information three times: a common-ancestor card, a horizontal chain that needed scrolling, and a step-by-step list repeating every name. Now you see the answer immediately — the relationship plus one common-ancestor line — and anyone who wants the details taps "Show relation path" for a single vertical path with full names that wrap, no sideways scrolling.

Publishing is now instant Your posts and comments appear to the family the moment you save them, with no review wait. Families that prefer oversight can turn on "review before publishing" in settings. The description is now optional When adding a birth, marriage, or death announcement, leave the description empty and the platform writes the full congratulation — or condolence — text itself, from templates the admin can customise.

Straight to the item itself On the home page, tapping a card in the "New in the archive" strip used to open the whole list, leaving you to look for what you had just seen. Tapping it now opens that item directly: the album shown to you, or the newborn, marriage, death, or article.

Section names in the bottom bar If you have made the text size larger on your phone, the names in the bottom bar were showing cut short. They now show in full, and a longer name moves onto a second line when it needs to.

Saving is blocked until images finish uploading • On every form that accepts images or video — news, events, births, deaths, marriages, pens, albums and the family channel — saving during an upload is no longer possible. • Saving early used to publish the post with its images silently missing. • A line now explains why the save button is disabled while uploading.

Reliable offline appearance • Icons and the Arabic font now ship inside the app — icons no longer disappear and text no longer changes shape on a weak network. • Fixed the small clipped badge that appeared under member photos in memories. • Faster loading by removing unnecessary external requests.

Fresh memories and wider links • «From the family archive»: a different set of highlights each day instead of repeating the same cards, while «On this day» keeps only genuinely dated occasions. • Birth, marriage and death announcements can link their subjects to family members, opening their profiles. • Notifications now show the actor's photo and a link to their profile. • Security and validation improvements.

Reactions and better photos everywhere • Tap any post photo to view it full-size with pinch zoom. • Reactions on news, events, announcements, articles and messages — and see who reacted. • Multiple album-style covers, no cropped faces, shown on homepage highlights. • Comments opt-in per post; tappable links in announcements. • Shared post links open directly inside the app. • Fixed family-tree buttons on small screens, and other fixes.

Interactive tree and app lock improvements • The tree's zoom buttons were hidden behind the bottom bar and now show in full. • A new button returns you to your own place in the tree in one tap. • Fingerprint app lock is now off by default — turn it on from the menu if you want it. • The update notice can be deferred three times, then becomes required.

Navigation and control-panel improvements: • The control panel gets the member area's bottom bar and a search field. • Removed duplication between the side menu and the bottom bar. • The side menu no longer hides its last entries behind the bottom bar. • The member card now states whether a person is inside or outside the family. • Registration review shows affiliation, and can no longer link a man as his own father.

Family and registration improvements: • Adding a child or milk sibling can now pick an existing member instead of creating a duplicate, and warns if the name already exists. • "Is this person from the family?" now comes first, since the fourth name field is labelled from it. • Registrants with no family parent are asked how they connect, so an admin can link them. • Save and cancel buttons are visible on mobile again.

Top search bar fix: • The opening letters of your second word are no longer wiped as you type. • Results now appear while the word is still being formed, not only after a space. This only ever affected the app, not the website, because it depends on the Android keyboard. Also includes the 1.1.17 relation-calculator and interactive-tree fixes.

Relation calculator fixes: • The name list now appears as you type, instead of waiting for a space or a backspace. • The first name no longer loses its opening letters while you type the second. • No more duplicate paths built by inserting extra names into a shorter one — one entry per genuine relationship. Also includes the interactive-tree fix from 1.1.16.

The home page now opens with today: • New "Today in the family" section: birthdays and wedding anniversaries falling today, drawn from the family tree itself. • Reordered: today's and upcoming occasions first, then what the family has shared, then the statistics. • Fixed "On this day in family memory" — it was showing nothing at all due to a read error. • Each kind of memory now has its own icon.
