SlateMargin keeps production scenes, camera setups, takes, script beats, continuity notes, reference files and pickups together on your iPhone or iPad. No account or subscription is required. RUN THE SET DESK Choose the current scene, log takes with a running clock, record timecode labels and camera or sound rolls, and keep performance, technical, continuity and dialogue notes. Rate takes Circle, Hold, No Good or Wild, and mark director selects. Record lens, frame rate, shutter angle, stop, filter and camera details. FIND THE DETAIL Search the current production across scenes, takes, script beats, continuity notes, pickups and reference filenames or notes. Read a matching record and open its scene. Attached file contents are not indexed. REVIEW ACTUAL RECORDS Track scene status and script-beat coverage against recorded setups. Review open notes and pickups across the production. These checks organize observations; they do not approve a scene or decide whether continuity is correct. KEEP REFERENCE FILES Import documents and photos, capture a continuity frame with the camera, and compare stored frames side by side. Portable JSON archives include current production records and active reference files, with integrity checks on import. Up to 250 MB of reference files can be included in a portable archive. Older metadata-only archives remain readable and identify missing files. RECOVER REMOVED WORK Removed productions and references remain in the local library for restoration. They are not automatically erased. Restore removed items before exporting if you want them included in a portable archive. Keep exported backups outside the app to protect against device loss or app deletion. PREPARE EDITOR DELIVERABLES Generate PDF, take-log CSV, continuity CSV, wrap reports and a metadata/reference integrity manifest locally, then share through Apple system sheets. Select scenes for a shoot day. Scheduled-scene summaries show cumulative records for those scenes, including takes logged on other days. MADE FOR APPLE DEVICES Use iPhone and iPad layouts, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver labels, a quick-open widget, and App Shortcuts for Set Desk, Continuity and Reports. The included fictional sample production lets you explore the workflow. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT There is no account, advertising, analytics, tracking, developer-operated server, in-app purchase or subscription. Production records and reference files stay on your device unless you export or share them through your chosen services. SlateMargin records observations and production decisions. Frame comparisons and coverage checks are review aids, not automatic assessments of creative or technical correctness.
