What's New in 1.10.0 - A die beside project and instrument NAME fields generates a random name. Move onto it and press EDIT to roll, then press EDIT again to re-roll. - NAMES and CASE in SETTINGS choose among five vocabularies and six casing styles. Both choices persist. - Open or share songs, bundles, instruments, themes, patch banks and WAV samples into Billie Tracker. Each file is copied to the right card folder and the app tells you where it landed. - Importing a file whose name already exists adds a number instead of overwriting your file. - iOS: Billie Tracker now runs on iOS 15.1 and later.

What's New in 1.9.0 - Each note lane holds on its own. A note in lane 2 keeps sounding until lane 2 gets its next note or an OFF, whatever lanes 1 and 3 are doing. - An OFF in one lane ends that lane only, and a new note in one lane leaves the others ringing. - Every voice has its own envelope, filter and drive. A chord's voices used to share one envelope, which ran a triad's decay three times too fast. - A note sitting on its own in lane 2 or higher plays in that lane's voice now, not in lane 1's. Songs written that way can sound different from 1.8.0. - The font is redrawn. Curves are chamfered, stems are thinner, and 5 and S no longer look alike.

What's New in 1.8.0 - Phrase rows hold up to eight notes. LANES goes 1 to 8 now instead of 1 or 4. - Wide rows scroll sideways, so FX3 is reachable. - POLY instruments play up to eight voices. - A note sitting on its own in lane 2 or higher plays now instead of going silent. - Turning LANES down mutes the lanes above it rather than deleting them. - Songs saved in 1.8.0 don't open in older versions. Your old songs are copied to Backups first.

What's New in 1.7.0 - A phrase row holds up to four notes. Every instrument is polyphonic, so a chord goes into the grid the same way a single note does, on any instrument. - Hold a chord on a MIDI keyboard and the whole voicing lands across the row's note lanes, snapped to KEY and SCALE the way a typed note is. Stopped, it goes to the cursor row. While the transport rolls, it goes to the row you played it on. - EDIT on the gear in the phrase screen's corner opens a PHRASE panel holding LEN and LANES. LANES is 1 or 4, per phrase, so a drum part stays a single column. LEN moved in here from the top right of the screen. - Instruments have a MONO and POLY switch. POLY is the default. - The PROJECT screen is grouped by subject: SONG, KEY, PHRASE DEFAULTS, FILE, MIDI and USAGE. USAGE shows how much of each limit the song has used. - A song saved in 1.7.0 does not open in an older version, which says NEWER CARD FORMAT - UPDATE TO OPEN rather than reading it wrong. Your existing songs open here as normal, and each one is copied under Backups before it is first written back. - Text no longer overflows its card when the system text size is turned up. The tutorial on first run was the worst of it.

What's New in 1.6.0 - Editing is more consistent. - The app starts faster.

What's New in 1.5.0 - PHLEN on the project screen sets the length a phrase gets when it does not have one of its own. Moving it stamps the old default onto phrases that already have rows, so raising it should not add silence to the end of what you have written. - EDIT with up or down doubles and halves a phrase's length. EDIT with OPT hands it back to the song default. - EDIT on a song or chain cell works on the cell in front of you. - The built-in themes have been tweaked. - The screen is drawn at a higher resolution, so widgets can carry more detail. - The MACRO oscillator's envelope is smoother. There is more to come on it. - Background playback is improved. Deeper integration with the system audio controls comes in a later release.

What's New in 1.4.0 - PLAY works after you record a sample. It used to go dead for the rest of the session, and only quitting the app brought it back. - The built-in mic records again after you have used an interface. With a pair of 3/4 or higher saved, the mic was read on a pair it does not have, so meters, the AUTO trigger and the take were all silent. Quitting did not help, because the pair is saved. - IN and PAIR sit under the waveform on the sampling screen. OPT with left or right steps the pairs the device offers, OPT with up opens the picker. Choosing an input used to mean a trip to SETTINGS. - An unplugged sampler input falls back to the default, and IN names it. A take already running keeps its device and pair until it ends. - SAMPLER PAIR marks a pair the device cannot be read on, and the picker no longer sits over the channel column on a phone.
