DOCAURA KNOWS WHAT TO CALL YOU Tell the app your name when you first open it — one optional line on the welcome screen — and the home screen greets you by it: "Hi Sara, what would you like to do?" Skip it and nothing changes; the headline stays exactly as it was. Already using DocAura? You won't be asked again on an update, so the name lives in Settings under Greeting: type one in, correct it, or clear the field and the plain headline comes straight back. WE'LL TELL YOU WHEN THERE'S A NEWER VERSION When a newer DocAura is on the App Store, the app now asks you once when you open it. Tap Update to go straight there, or Later to get on with what you came to do. Version 1.5 said we'd never use a pop-up for this, and put the notice on a line at the top of the home screen instead — an update is worth mentioning and never worth interrupting for. In practice most people open DocAura to scan one page and tap straight into a tool, and that line went unread. Asking once, on opening, is the smallest interruption that actually works: there is always a Later, the app is fully usable behind it, and dismissing the home screen line with the × still stops that version being mentioned at all. UPDATING DOESN'T THROW YOU OUT OF THE APP Tapping Update brings the App Store page up as a sheet over DocAura instead of switching you to the App Store. Close it and you are back exactly where you were — a half-finished scan is still sitting there. (Apple installs the update; no iPhone app is allowed to install itself, so that last tap still belongs to the App Store.) NOTHING NEW LEAVES YOUR DEVICE Your name is kept with your other preferences on this iPhone or iPad, exactly like your appearance and page-size choices. It is never printed on a document, never sent anywhere, and it is not an account — DocAura still has no sign-up and no cloud. The name, address and signature you may have saved in My Details are untouched: encrypted in the vault, behind Face ID. The app makes one network request — asking the App Store for the current version number, at most once a day, with nothing about you, your files, your identity or your usage attached. Your scans, your PDFs and your vault never leave your iPhone or iPad.

WHEN THERE'S A NEW VERSION, YOU'LL KNOW DocAura now tells you on the home screen when a newer version is on the App Store, instead of leaving you to find out by chance. It's a single line you can dismiss — never a pop-up over what you were doing. ONE NETWORK REQUEST, AND WHAT IT IS Making that work meant DocAura's first network request in five releases, so here it is in plain terms: the app asks the App Store for the current version number. It sends nothing about you, nothing about your files, no identifier and no analytics, and it asks at most once a day. Everything else is unchanged and still happens entirely on your device. Your scans, your PDFs and your vault never leave your iPhone or iPad. The privacy policy has been updated to describe this exactly rather than in absolutes.

DOCUMENT VAULT A place for the papers you can't easily replace: driving licence, passport, certificates, rent agreement, insurance. File each one by type, add an expiry date, and find any of them with one search. Everything in the vault is encrypted with AES-256 and opens with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode. Prefer a PIN? Set a six-digit one instead. EXPIRING SOON Anything within 60 days of its expiry date is pinned to the top of the vault, so a licence doesn't lapse because you forgot about it. MY DETAILS Save your name, address and signature once. Fill & Sign offers them on every form after that, so you stop redrawing the same signature. YOUR RECOVERY CODE The encryption key is created on your device and never leaves it — not to iCloud, not into any backup. That is what keeps the vault private, and it is also why only you can get back in. So write down the recovery code the vault gives you. It restores your documents, not just the key, onto a new iPhone. Settings > Document Vault > Export all does the same job as a file you keep yourself. Opening or sharing a vault document produces an ordinary PDF or image. Whoever you send it to needs nothing to read it.

PASSPORT PHOTO: YOU CHOOSE THE CROP Drag to reposition and pinch to zoom, so the frame keeps the part of the photo you meant. Before, a tall phone photo was cropped from the centre and an off-centre face could lose the top of its head. Framing and brightness each have their own reset. NAME A SCAN WHEN YOU CAPTURE IT DocAura now asks for the file name right after you scan, not only at the end. ID ON ONE PAGE: A6 FIX Choosing the A6 size on A4 paper no longer drops the back side without saying so. DocAura tells you the back will not fit and names the file to match. TELL A FRIEND A share link in Settings, and after each file you save. ABOUT THE PAGE FOOTER The footer is now part of what a free DocAura file carries, and the Settings controls for it have gone. If you switched the footer off in 1.1, it comes back. Files you merge, split, sign or watermark are still never given a footer, and neither is a passport photo exported for an online form.

Four new tools, all still 100% on-device. ID ON ONE PAGE Print the front and back of a licence, ID card, or passport page on a single sheet at true physical size, with cut guides. PASSPORT PHOTO Print sheets of correctly sized ID photos — US 2×2 in, UK/EU 35×45 mm, India 35×45 mm, Brazil 3×4 cm, China 33×48 mm. Or export one photo at exact pixel dimensions under a file size limit, for online application forms. DocAura warns you when a photo is too low-resolution to print well. EXTRACT TEXT Pull the text out of any PDF and copy it or share it as a text file. Scans without a text layer are read with on-device recognition. PAGE FOOTER Documents DocAura creates can carry a small footer. Edit the wording or switch it off in Settings — your merged, split, signed, and watermarked files are never changed. Also: photos and text files now sit alongside PDFs in My Files, with correct previews and renaming.
