The RSS reader that's actually native everywhere — iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Full articles, read-aloud narration, zero lock-in.
ExtraExtra is an RSS reader built to feel completely at home on whichever Apple device you're holding — genuinely native on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro, not a stretched-out port.
READING EXPERIENCE
• Full-text extraction turns excerpt-only feeds into complete articles, automatically
• On-device AI read-aloud — text is cleaned up to sound natural when spoken (URLs, footnotes, and symbols smoothed out; nothing summarized or dropped)
• Adjustable fonts and reading size
• Light and dark themes
• In-article search, keyword muting, and full-text search across feeds
• Save articles to read later; mark read/unread with swipe or keyboard shortcuts
FEEDS, YOUR WAY
• Connect any GReader-compatible sync service (FreshRSS, The Old Reader, and others) to sync read state and subscriptions across devices
• Or sync privately with iCloud — no server or account required, your read and saved state just follows you across devices
• Or skip the account entirely — local mode reads feeds directly, no server, no sign-up, nothing leaving your device
• Import existing subscriptions via OPML, folders and all
• Tap a feed link in Safari to subscribe directly, no copy-pasting URLs
• Share any webpage to ExtraExtra and it'll find and add that site's feed automatically
• Organize feeds into categories/folders with per-feed unread counts
EVERYWHERE YOU ARE
• One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro
• Start an article on one device, pick it up on another with Handoff
• Home Screen widgets keep unread counts visible at a glance
• Siri Shortcuts and hardware media key support
• Apple Watch companion app — remote control your iPhone right from your wrist
• Full keyboard shortcut support on Mac and iPad
ExtraExtra: extra, extra — read all about it, your way.
Works great across the board. Been using it on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and it even runs on my Vision Pro. Syncing is solid, no weird glitches switching between devices. Exactly what I wanted from an RSS app.
Made for iPhone Duo
• ExtraExtra adapts to every way you hold iPhone Duo — folded, unfolded, or half-open — with reading controls in the side toolbar so nothing covers the article.
Videos and posts in full articles
• Videos embedded in articles now play right in the reader, including YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok and more.
• Posts from X and Instagram embedded in articles now appear in full.
• When a story links straight to a YouTube video or to a post on X, Bluesky or Mastodon, ExtraExtra shows it in the reader, alongside the feed's own text.
Improvements
• The unread count on the app icon now updates in the background, not only when you open the app.
• On iPad, returning to ExtraExtra no longer flickers between layouts, flashes white in dark mode, or reopens with an extra pane.
• The reader's More button now follows your Liquid Glass transparency setting.
• If a full article can't be loaded, you now see the feed's own text instead of a blank page.
• Feed content is now checked and cleaned before it's shown, for added security.
• Read Aloud starts more smoothly.
