鼎弈是一款三人对弈的中国象棋：魏、蜀、吴各据一方，六边形棋盘三分天下。 每枚棋子的走法与二人象棋完全相同——会下象棋，就会玩； 玩了之后，才发现是三国。
三分棋盘 —— 三国各九路五线，纵线在河湾两两对接，三条中路会于中央「鼎」点。 車炮兵馬沿线跨河作战，相不过河，士将守宫如常。
三位军师 —— 执一国，与两位 AI 军师博弈：司马懿守成待变，周瑜锋芒毕露， 诸葛亮均衡机动。初出茅庐、运筹帷幄、神机妙算三档棋力，新手与老手各得其所。
三人成局 —— 被将死者出局，余子冻结为障碍；全程吃子计分， 六十回合无吃子按积分裁定名次——摆烂送子，无利可图。
双人视界 —— 点选一位对手，两国投影成一张传统象棋盘，棋子放大一倍， 随时返回全局总览。
也可三人传机 —— 本地热座模式，一部手机，三个人的赤壁。
落子有古琴配乐与木子落枰之声，判词自绢面淡入；悔棋、存档续局、复盘回放俱全。 三人象棋之制始于南宋「三国图格」，历清代「三友棋」至今，鼎弈是对这一脉 谱系的致敬与整理。
