Jimakun turns the words spoken in front of you into large, easy-to-read captions. It helps in everyday moments: talking with a family member who is hard of hearing, a short exchange at a clinic reception desk, or a conversation while you are out. Open the app and it starts listening right away. There is nothing complicated to learn, and no account to create. WHAT JIMAKUN DOES - Shows what is said in large captions that fill the screen - Five text sizes to choose from - White, black, or sepia background - Keeps the previous sentence on screen in smaller type - Sans-serif or serif typeface - A personal dictionary for names of people and places, to help them come out right - Switches to an external microphone automatically when you plug one in - Recognizes speech in 22 languages - Translates what it hears into another language - Horizontal or vertical writing (vertical Japanese text is experimental) - Change the display language from inside the app SIMPLE TO USE 1. Open the app. 2. The first time, allow the microphone and speech recognition. 3. Speak, and the words appear in big captions. There is no start button to press each time. Once a family member has chosen the settings, the person using it only has to open the app. PRIVACY COMES FIRST Jimakun does not save captions or conversation history in the app. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking for advertising. Depending on your device and the language you choose, an internet connection may be needed for Apple's speech recognition. ABOUT TRANSLATION Translation is not always right.
