A kanban board backed by markdown files in your own GitHub or GitLab repo. Full history, no server, cards are just files.
GitKanban turns a git repository into a kanban board. Each card is a markdown file with simple frontmatter, each lane is a folder, and the whole board lives in a repo you own, so you keep full history and your data is portable by default.
Sign in to GitHub with device-flow OAuth, or connect GitHub, GitLab.com or a self-hosted GitLab with a personal access token. Open a repo and start moving cards. There is no hosted service and no separate account: you bring your own git host, and your token is stored in the Keychain.

• Try a demo board first — no account or connection needed
GitKanban reads and writes the same board format as GitKanban for Mac, so a board you edit on one renders on the other. It works over your provider's API, with no local clone required.
