New • Your daily call doesn't keep coming back to the same subject. It takes turns: picking up your last talk, light chat about films or music, a story from today's news, and a question that asks your opinion (from B1). • Me → Say hello now has Email and Threads too. • Add the My routine widget to your Home Screen. It shows what's on today and what's up now, and a tap starts it. • An empty Review page now shows where your first book will appear, with a button to start a call. • Add your own words, expressions and sentences to your lists. As you type, anything already there shows up. • Mark a review card as misheard: that line leaves your score, and the cards made from it are cleared. • Swipe sideways through the topic chips on the Talk tab. Fixed • Your next daily call now rings on time even if you declined or answered the last one and didn't open the app. • When your free minutes run out, a report on what those talks showed opens. It no longer goes missing if you close the call screen right after the talk ends. • Quick quizzes now use expressions at your level you haven't used yet, and the weekly test uses the words, expressions and sentences you put off in your deck. No more questions where several choices fit. • Opening The Core on a smaller iPhone no longer closes the app. • Card sentences and buttons no longer get cut off on small screens. • In Listen, there's a short pause before the next episode starts. • In coach mode, "try saying" now follows the whole call and your profile, so it never contradicts what you already said. • A quick quiz you closed halfway picks up where you left off.

New • Setup now helps you build your own routine. Set the time and days for your daily call, then pick what else you want to do (Say it again, review, shadowing, listening, speech) and when. Once it's on your week, move or change anything right there, then confirm. • Shadowing and listening can each have their own spot in your routine. A listening reminder opens the player already playing, and a day you listened counts as a day you studied. • Learning German? The nawana Podcast now comes in German too. • Pick a British or Australian English accent, or Castilian Spanish, and your fluent self uses that variety's words too. Your own words from the other side are never marked wrong. • Accent buttons now switch right away, no extra screen. • The free-minutes sheet has a Later button, so you can close it without starting a call. Fixed • Choosing Original under accents brings back your voice exactly as you recorded it. • Sounds no longer overlap on the screen where you first hear your voice. • Tapping anywhere on a colour tile now selects it. • The tab bar no longer shows on the topics page.

New • If you're learning English, there's a new nawana Podcast episode every day: two hosts talk through the day's news, and you can open the script and turn on Study for its expressions and grammar. Find it under Podcast in the player's list. • Slow the player down to the speed you like. • In a call with a person or a role, their name now shows on their lines. • Take a quick quiz from the Talk screen whenever you like, with words, expressions and grammar picked for you. • Find a topic for today's talk with one button. • Listen to your situations back to back in a player. It keeps playing with the screen off. • When you learn Japanese, readings now appear above the kanji. • On a free trial in Korea, the app tells you ahead of time that you'll need to agree before you're charged. • The weekly test now lives inside your weekly report. Fixed • Cut in while your fluent self is talking and it stops right away. It used to stop late, or not at all. • Challenge cards no longer change size when you open one and come back. • You no longer slide in from the side when Watch first opens. • The tab bar no longer shows while a situation plays. • Icons on blue buttons are visible again. • Hear it in my voice on a script now shows what it costs and a clearer button.

New • You can now learn Spanish, with a Mexican or Castilian accent. • Set up your routine when you start: pick when your daily call rings and how much you study, and it goes straight onto your weekly plan. • Your fluent self remembers what's been going on and asks about it when you say hello. • Adding a person takes one screen, and you can create someone new right from the person picker. • Swipe through speech challenges as cards, and find the weekly test right on the Review screen. • Your voice recording is cleaned of background noise more thoroughly when your voice is made. • In Say it again, you can now say your fluent self's lines too. Turn on Read both sides from the button at the top left. Fixed • Your fluent self's bubble no longer flickers when it appears. • News call titles are no longer cut off. • Hear it in my voice no longer uses more time than the script's length. • Corrected words in Review no longer land inside other words. • When learning Japanese or Spanish, the people list is no longer empty.

New • Turn on Study in a speech script to see its grammar and expressions explained, with each paragraph translated into your language. • Make an audio version of your script read in your own voice. • Turn on Answer with Send in a call and pausing won't end your turn. Take your time, then tap the middle button when you're done. Fixed • Minor bug fixes and stability improvements.

New • Tutor mode, in call settings. Turn it on and your fluent self runs a lesson: after everything you say, you hear the right sentence or a more natural way to put it, then a question you can answer by using it. • When you publish your profile in Find people, your photo goes with it. Fixed • Speech takes read all the way through were scored as if the last sentence was skipped. • Speech challenge takes from learners without a photo never reached the leaderboard. • Taking the weekly test the day after it opened broke your streak in My routine. Days lost this way are restored. • With the new voice, the greeting at the start of a call could sound jumbled.

New • Your voice moves to a new voice engine: more natural, more like you, and faster replies. You'll see a note when you open the app. Pick an accent and rebuild your voice from your recording in one tap. • The Watch tab is now a map of people. You're in the middle, and the people closest to you sit nearest. Bring someone to the middle and they greet you in their own voice; start a scene or a call right from their card. Your profile and the introduction others see now live on one page. • Everyone in Find people now speaks in a voice of their own, with the accent of where they're from. The default voices are native speakers of the language you're learning. • On your Find people profile, pick the voice that plays you from voices of your own country. Rewrite your introduction from what you've told your fluent self lately, and get a greeting to match. • Challenges in the Speech tab: everyone reads the same script and competes for the top score. Only takes recorded with the camera on count, and the leaderboard shows just your name and score. • Choose why you're learning (an exam, work, travel and more) and the Talk tab's topics follow it, with a routine suggested for you. • Tap “Your effort” on the Progress tab to see what you practised, and how much, over a week or a month. • In Me → Accent, choose "Original" to go back to your voice with no accent. Fixed • Sign in with Apple did nothing on the welcome screen. It works again. • Automatic greetings were cut off halfway. They're whole now. • In a call, replies now appear one sentence at a time, together with the voice. • Shadowing and Speech scores are more accurate: Korean is compared by word group, Japanese by word, and anything you skipped is shown as it's written in the script. • In My routine, a day counts once you've started every block, and review blocks fill up with every card and word you studied. • The limit of one voice change every 30 days is gone. • Fixed the app closing when you opened the Me tab. • The voice recording script is a little shorter.

New • Even when this month's voices are used up, you can finish signing up. Your recording is saved and meanwhile you pick one of the preset voices to practice with; on the day voices can be made again, it switches to your own voice by itself. Fixed • Calls now connect when you use nawana on a Mac. • With subtitles off, the "thinking" line no longer shows during a call. • When a voice can't be made right now, you're told when it can, instead of seeing an error.

New • Picked English? You're asked first whether your voice should speak with an American, British or Australian accent, or stay as you recorded it, and it's made that way from the start. • Learning German, your voice now speaks with a standard German accent. • Weekly test: a new kind of question turns your own grammar slips into fresh sentences. See a sentence in your language and build it in the one you're learning from word tiles. Fixed • Speech on iPad: the camera picture no longer shows up sideways. New • Speech: a new tab for practicing talks and presentations. Read your script out loud from a prompter that keeps pace with your voice. Turn on the camera and you get a vertical video with your script and your face. You're scored on accuracy, pace, pauses and filler words, and a coach tells you what to try next. • Max: a new plan with 1,200 minutes of talk a month. Need more? New • Coach mode: now and then your future self asks something you can answer with a word you're studying, and shows that word as a hint while you think. When you add someone, you can choose how casually the two of you talk. • When you're learning Korean or Japanese, your conversation partners speak with voices and names from that language. • The app is now available in German. Fixed • The first greeting of a call sometimes played without sound. • Your future self sometimes lost track of the date and time, like saying "long time no see" on your second call of the day. • The "Doesn't sound like you?" screen closed as soon as it opened. • The first screen no longer stutters for a moment when you open the app.

New: Say it again — redo a finished talk, saying your part the corrected way. Long first answers no longer pause the call, and talk time counts from your first word.

New accounts now get 20 free minutes of talking with their fluent self — no trial, just start. Every plan shows the talk time and Watch scenes you have left.

Once a week, a test made from that week's talks. What you miss goes back into review, and a month's misses return as a monthly test. Choose how fast your fluent self talks — Settings → Voice, then Normal, Relaxed or Slow. iCloud Syncing keeps going after you close the app.

Your first 10 minutes of talk are free. Choose a plan once you've used them. Pick up your practice on your other devices. Turn on "Continue on your other devices" in your profile.

You can now learn Japanese. Your first call is free — try it before you subscribe. Shadowing results now show up much faster.

Your fluent self keeps what it learns about you as short notes, and you choose for each one what others see: nothing, just the gist, or everything. If a call drops for a moment, it now reconnects on its own. Your fluent self's voice pauses more naturally between sentences. Words and phrases you've actually used in a call are now marked in your review.
