I am not new to Christianity, but I am digging in deeper to scripture. Specifically what is meant by certain passages, etc. Where this app is most helpful is Theo (AI) gives context to the original meaning of words and the profound implications that word most likely had at that time. Being better educated on the profundity of the original Greek words has been more than helpful in deeper learning. This app goes on to help you dig into meaning of the passage as if you had a biblical tutor sitting right next while you learn.I also appreciate you being able to set up your biblical “journeys.” For example I wanted to study the Lord’s Prayer in more depth, Theo set up the weekly readings and in addition asked me thought provoking questions.Another neat feature is you can save your conversations with the paid subscription which I like. I find myself revisiting the old conversations and reviewing what was said. I understand that other AI programs do this but they are more cumbersome, your conversations aren’t easily saved or retrieved. Finally, I appreciate the guard rails placed on the app and trust the developers are coming from this with the truest intentions.

I’m reluctantly tiptoeing.I came across an article in Psychology Today, “Surviving and Thriving in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” which highlights a fascinating unpublished MIT study.MIT researchers discovered something wild: ChatGPT users showed reduced brain activity during tasks.It’s a “soulless” exchange.That’s cognitive debt—the price we pay for outsourcing our thinking.Every time you let AI give you answers as a shortcut, you are reducing the opportunity to commune with God.The research calls it “reduced neural engagement.”I call it creative atrophy.Think about it: It’s about spiritual intelligence vs artificial intelligence.AI can synthesize, analyze, and generate.But it can’t teach you what Rabbis in the ancient near east used to teach their students: Ask questions, wrestle, study, think, and pray.In the age of AI abundance, the scarcest resource isn’t content—it’s soul.So when the founder, Kat, showed me what she built with Theos, I did my due diligence to explore if this was a tool I wanted as a part my spiritual disciplines. What I discovered, is the formative value of going back to Scripture, ancient creeds, historical resources to help you read the Bible, understand God’s living and breathing Word, and apply concepts to our current context.In a post-Christian culture, I don’t trust other major AI LLMs to give me a trustworthy and an unbiased insight.And I don’t trust other Christian AI tools because of their lack of transparency and shady business practices. 

Theos has been a breath of fresh air. It’s like a trusted Bible scholar friend that I can ask questions and reflect on the scriptures with. I can also build Bible plans contextual to my life.I recommend every believer, new and seasoned alike to give Theos a shot.

I’m truly obsessed with this app. I have been using it for the last few months. And not only has it deepened my relationship with the Lord but I’ve been able to ask those hard hitting/uncomfortable questions without feeling judgement for them. It’s a space where you can truly dive into the Bible more but in an easier and more manageable way. I am recommending this app to EVERYONE!

Theos is the best Bible study app I’ve found. It’s helped me connect parallels, references and prophecies from the Old Testament to the New Testament and vice versa, in a way I’ve never been able to before. Not to mention the cultural and historical context of Scripture that would have previously gone over my head. Thanks to Theos, I’m able to notice, understand and appreciate those details in a whole new way. I love this app!
