Not an archive that piles up mistakes — a study system that closes gaps. Photograph it, review it when it's due, close it once you've proved it.
Everyone knows they should keep a mistake notebook. The hard part is not starting one — it is keeping it up.
Mistake Notebook is not an archive that collects photos of questions. It is a study system that brings each mistake back when it is due, and refuses to call it closed until you have proved you have learned it.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Capture and tag
Photograph the question you got wrong. Pick the subject, the topic and, if you like, the type of error — knowledge gap, mixed-up concept, careless slip, ran out of time. No copying anything out. With batch capture you can add every mistake from one practice test in a row.
2. Solve it when it is due
The question comes back on a day scheduled around the forgetting curve: after two days, then five. The answer stays hidden. You solve it on paper again and mark yourself honestly.
3. Prove it and close it
A mistake is not closed until you have solved it correctly on two different days. One correct answer may just be recall. Two independent ones point to learning. Closed mistakes move to the archive, and your notebook gets smaller.
FOR STUDENTS
One question each morning: how many reviews do I have today? Logging takes under a minute, so it stays sustainable even during exam week. Every closed mistake is visible progress — no points, no badges, no games.
Your subjects and topics are yours to define. Whatever exam board or curriculum you follow, you build the list that matches your own syllabus.
FOR TEACHERS
Students can share a weekly report if they choose to. The science teacher gets science data only; the maths teacher gets maths data only. In a few seconds you can see which topic and which type of error is causing trouble — useful when setting extra work or planning revision.
The report answers "which gap is still open?" rather than "how many questions did they do?"
FOR PARENTS
Instead of "have you studied?", a concrete picture: open, stubborn and closed mistakes, broken down by subject. No social feed, no chat, no ads.
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your device. Question photos, notes and review records are never sent to a server. There is no account, no sign-up and no advertising ID. The app works fully offline — on the bus, in the library, out of range.
Camera access is used only to photograph a question. For the gallery, the app uses your phone's photo picker and can reach only the image you select. It never scans your photo library.
You can export everything to a single backup file at any time, and delete everything with one action.
