Adopt tiny pixel creatures that live on top of your real windows: walking, napping, and tumbling across your Mac. 170+ species to collect.
Toplings are tiny pixel-art creatures that live on your Mac desktop, and they know it's a desktop. They walk along the top edges of your real windows, tumble off when you move a window, grab the edge to hang on, and climb back up. They graze, yawn, nap (with little "zzz" bubbles), roll, and doze on the Dock. Pick one up with your mouse and toss it: it swings from your cursor and lands on its feet.
Adopt from a menagerie of 170+ species (cats, sheep, foxes, owls, dinosaurs, mythical creatures and more), each with its own size, pace, and personality. They form a living little ecosystem on your screen: they lick and groom each other, play chase, nap in a pile, and the braver ones stalk the timid ones (cartoon-only, and fully optional).
Open the toy box and mess with them: bounce a ball they chase in teams, wave a laser pointer, blow soap bubbles that carry them off, set out a trampoline they bounce on to reach higher windows, or pour a bowl of kibble. Whistle and the whole flock comes running.
Toplings lives quietly in your menu bar and stays out of the way. Animation and window detection happen locally without reading window titles or contents. When you use Accounts, Friends, letters or images, or purchases, the necessary data is securely exchanged with Toplings servers and payment or service providers. If AI moderation is enabled, letter content may be sent privately to OpenRouter, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
OPTIONAL HELPER MODES (all off by default, turn on only what you want):
• Focus: creatures come nag you when you linger on distracting sites or apps.
• Assistant: a creature brings a reminder before your next calendar event.
• Friends: pair with friends by code and send little emotes back and forth.

• They doze off when nobody is watching, so Toplings is much lighter on your Mac.
• Fairer gold: it is now counted per account instead of per machine. Two Macs signed in to the same account share one rate instead of doubling it — with a single Mac, nothing changes.
• Purchase and sync fixes.
