Ever looked up at a plane and wondered what it is and where it's going?
AboveNow tells you - instantly. Open the app and see the flight number, airline, full route, aircraft type, altitude, and speed of whatever is flying closest to you right now. A compass pointer shows you exactly which direction to look.
HOW IT WORKS
AboveNow uses your location and live ADS-B radio data to find the aircraft nearest to you. As planes pass overhead the display updates automatically - no refreshing needed. When a flight locks in, you get the full picture: where it came from, where it's going, what it's flying, and how high and fast it's travelling.
WHAT YOU'LL SEE
• Flight number and airline name
• Full route - origin and destination airports and cities
• Aircraft type (e.g. Airbus A320neo, Boeing 787-9)
• Altitude, ground speed, and climb or descent direction
• Distance and compass bearing from where you're standing
• Up to four other nearby flights, ranked by distance

• Scan radius from 10 to 150 km
• Refresh interval from 5 to 60 seconds
• Metric or imperial units
• Light and dark mode

Flight data is sourced from the community-operated ADS-B network via airplanes.live. Route and aircraft information courtesy of adsbdb.com. Data is provided for curiosity and entertainment only and must not be used for navigation or safety-critical purposes.
Ratings & Reviews
• Home screen widget — add "Overhead Now" to your home screen to see the closest aircraft at a glance. (iOS refreshes widgets every 15–20 min, so open the app for live tracking.)
• Knots — speed can now be shown in knots, alongside km/h and mph. Set it under Settings → Speed
