Explore the map before you commit to a spot You can now pan across the verification map and see, at any point, whether the eclipse will be total or partial, its magnitude, how many seconds totality lasts, and the Sun's altitude. Found somewhere better? Save it to your locations with a name — no more writing coordinates down and typing them back in. Free translation for your cues Translating your cues no longer requires a paid key. Choose between Google Gemini, which has a free tier, and Claude. Settings explains how to get each key and which one costs money. Translation is faster and more reliable too: the whole programme travels in a single request, and camera settings (F8, 1/500, ISO 100) come through untouched. If something goes wrong, the app now tells you instead of staying quiet.

Check your horizon before the eclipse. The results screen now has a PeakFinder button next to the Jubier one. It opens a panorama from your exact coordinates, aimed at the Sun at maximum eclipse and showing its path across the sky that day, so you can see whether a ridge, a building or a line of trees will block your view. It matters this time: on 12 August 2026 the Sun is only a few degrees above the horizon across northern Spain.
