A redesigned pantry The Pantry has been rebuilt to make freshness information easier to understand at a glance. Updated summary cards clearly show item counts and recommended actions, with visual states that make navigating between Fresh, Expiring Soon, Expired, and All items more intuitive. Pantry sections now display item counts alongside concise freshness guidance. Countdown information uses status colors to highlight urgency, while dates remain clear and easy to read. Today’s date is also displayed at the top for additional context. Smarter food storage and shelf life Geblom now handles more product variations with greater accuracy. Fresh and cold pressed juices are recognized differently from shelf stable cartons, bottles, and frozen concentrates. Smoothies also receive appropriate freshness dates. Storage and shelf life logic has been improved for foods including corned beef, sardines, chicken, anchovies, and other meats. Geblom now better distinguishes between fresh, canned, and frozen products instead of treating different forms of the same food alike. Generic meat items now default to appropriate refrigerated storage with a freshness date when more specific information is unavailable. Shelf life tracking has also been refined for nonfood and household products. Items such as dry pet food receive useful dates, while products such as paper towels and soap are no longer assigned unnecessary expiration tracking. Simpler item management Adding items and reviewing scanned products now use cleaner, more unified forms. Related fields are grouped together to reduce visual clutter and make editing faster. Scan Review also provides clearer feedback, identifying items that need attention while confirming when everything is ready to add. Smarter scanning Scan a receipt or a barcode and Geblom now works out more than the name. It figures out what the item actually is, where it belongs, and roughly how long it keeps, before you've touched anything. A frozen chicken goes to the freezer with months on it, not the fridge with two days. A tin of sardines goes in the cupboard. Fresh sardines don't. The same goes for canned, tinned and fresh anything: what the label says about how it was sold now decides where it lands. Everything gets a home Every item you add or scan now gets a storage suggestion, including the things that aren't food. Dish soap and paper towels go in the cupboard. So do shampoo, sunscreen and vitamins, but those three get a date too, because they do run out. Paper towels don't, so Geblom doesn't pretend otherwise. Better dates on the food you cook Picking servings now tells Geblom the item is a meal rather than an ingredient. It moves to the fridge and gets a few days, whatever the dish is called. Leftovers, a rotisserie chicken, a tray of lasagna: you don't have to explain what it is. We also fixed a long list of foods that were being told the wrong thing. Lasagna was being dated like a box of dried pasta. Coconut milk was being chilled like dairy. Apples and bananas came back with no date at all if you typed them as plurals. A rebuilt pantry The pantry screen is new. Four cards at the top show what's expired, what needs using and what's still fine, and tapping one filters the list. Underneath, a freshness bar shows the whole kitchen at a glance. The rest of the app got the same treatment: cleaner cards, more consistent spacing, and forms that don't scatter one set of fields across four boxes. And the small things A first run now explains what the app does instead of showing an empty screen. The scan page's tips are always visible rather than hidden behind a tap. Search finally tells you why nothing came back.

The pantry got a redesign. Every item now shows how many days are left on a badge with a clock, alongside a pin marking where it is stored. Units are back too, so a carton reads "1 box" rather than just "1". The summary strip above your list now counts everything, including items with no date yet. It used to leave those out, so the numbers never quite added up. Scan review has the same treatment. Items flagged for a second look are marked more clearly, the "Add date" prompt is easier to spot, and every row shows where the item is headed. Dates now read "Aug 26, 2026" everywhere in the app. Section headers and filter chips got tidied up so a long label no longer gets cut off.

Geblom Plus arrives, along with better dates for the food you cook yourself. It looks at the food you already have, picks out what needs using first, and comes back with dishes built around it, each with a short method and roughly how long it takes. No shopping for extra ingredients. Choose how far ahead it looks Geblom Plus already let you pick when reminders arrive. Now that choice shapes your recipe ideas too. Set it to seven days and Geblom draws on everything expiring inside the week rather than only what is nearly gone, so there is more to cook with. Cooked food, dated properly Add a meal, choose servings as the unit, and Geblom dates it as cooked food instead of guessing from the name. Three days in the fridge, two months in the freezer. Before this a chili got the shelf life of a chili pepper and a turkey sandwich got raw poultry. Cooked dishes also get their own icon in the pantry, so a lasagna no longer shows up as cheese. This is free for everyone. One tap portion logging, in Geblom Plus Cooked a batch? Set how many servings you made and Geblom dates the whole lot at once. Then tap once on the pantry list as you eat each serving, rather than opening the item and editing the number every time. Editing that feels like the rest of the app Correcting an item and correcting a scanned receipt line both open a proper page now, with a back arrow and the tab bar still in place, instead of a sheet sliding over everything. Receipt scanning improvements Item codes are stripped when a receipt prints them in their own column, so a row no longer arrives named after a number. Store headers are skipped rather than saved as groceries. Accented characters from the scan are folded down before matching, and only consecutive duplicate lines are merged, so two genuinely separate purchases of the same thing stay as two items. More retailer abbreviations are expanded into real names. Smaller things Filter chips show real counts up to 999 instead of stopping at 99. The move to pantry action on the shopping list sits with the list now instead of in the corner of the app bar, so it is where your thumb already is when you finish checking things off. Suggestions on the shopping list moved below your items rather than pushing them off the screen. Selected chips and buttons are outlined rather than filled, which reads better against the food icons. Sixteen new food icons. Fixes Blueberry muffins drew a blueberry, chocolate cup cake drew a chocolate bar, chicken wraps drew a roast chicken, and every fruit juice drew the same orange glass. All fixed. Notification messages no longer say two days when you have chosen something else.
