One flat colour with a fine grain over it, and nothing else competing with what you are reading. Headlines arrive translated faster. The languages people read most are now prepared in the background, so switching language shows translated headlines straight away instead of English first.

First open now lands on the Starter decks: follow a whole curated set in one tap. Links into the app resolve more reliably. Sign in requests fewer permissions and recovers cleanly when a session expires.

Playing feels better: the keyboard now floats over the wall instead of squeezing the game, boards size themselves to the space above it, the whole crossword fits the card, and source search is ready to type the moment it opens.

Reading feels smoother: with a summary open you can now swipe straight to the next card, closing a summary brings every headline back, and the game timer no longer crowds long titles.

Summaries are much faster now. The ones you are most likely to tap are ready before you get there, and the rest arrive in a couple of seconds. Games got their controls and clues moved up beside the clock, they pick up where you left off, and the keyboard no longer covers the board.

Come back after a while and your deck now refreshes itself, so you always land on fresh headlines. The app also lets you know when a new version is out. Plus small fixes and polish all around.
