Snippets and clipboard history in your menu bar — now yours to take anywhere. Export your library to one file, or keep two Macs in step through a folder you choose.
Meow Clipboard is a menu bar snippet board and clipboard history for your Mac. Press ⌥⇧V from any app and everything you copy — text, images, plus all the boilerplate you retype every day — is one keystroke away.
WHAT YOU GET
• Snippet board — save the addresses, replies, code blocks and boilerplate you paste all the time. Organize them into groups, reorder groups by dragging, and pin the ones you reach for most.
• Clipboard history — your recent copies of text, images and files, searchable and ready to paste again. Every row shows which app you copied it from.
• Drag anything out — pull a row into a document, an email or a chat box. Images arrive as files, and your clipboard is left untouched.
• Filter by kind — narrow the panel to links, email addresses, colours, images or files. Search now ranks the closest match first.
• Whole documents — a long copy is kept in full for 24 hours, then shortened so your history stays quick to search. Anything too large to keep says so at the time. Press ⌘Y to read one before you paste it.
• Image snippets — name a screenshot, logo or signature and keep it for good, searchable and grouped like any other snippet. Drag one straight into the editor, or save it from your history.
• Keyboard-first — the global shortcut opens the panel with search already focused. ↑/↓ to move, Return to copy and close, ⌘1–⌘9 to grab the first nine items, ⌘N to add a snippet.
• Search that follows you — type to filter, press Tab to switch between this tab and everything at once, or pick any tab from the menu beside the search field.
• Your menu bar, your icon — six animated designs that move while Meow Clipboard is watching and react the moment you copy, two of them free, plus the original still ones. Or build your own from a GIF or your own frames. The icon rests when monitoring is paused, so you can tell at a glance. (Four animated designs, the cat and clipboard, and keeping your own icons are optional one-time purchases.)
• Make it yours — set your own panel background image, choose a history limit from 25 to 200, or have history auto-delete after an hour or a day.
• Export your snippets — or your whole library, images and icons — to a file, or keep two Macs in step through a folder you choose. Importing never overwrites.
PRIVACY YOU CAN VERIFY
Meow Clipboard has no account, no analytics and no third-party trackers. There is no server of ours for your data to go to. The app's only network connection is to Apple's App Store, used solely to show the prices of the optional icon unlocks and to complete a purchase you start.
• Your clipboard history stays on this Mac — encrypted at rest, inside the app's own sandbox, with nothing to sign in to, and never part of an export or a sync folder. Images are kept in their own separate store, so a problem with one can never cost you the other.
• Keeping images is optional — switch it off in Settings and Meow Clipboard records text only.
• Files are recorded by location only — never opened, and nothing inside them is read or stored.
• Password managers are skipped entirely — not just passwords, but anything you copy in them. Apple Passwords and Keychain Access are always skipped, and Meow Clipboard offers to skip any other password manager it finds. You can add any app of your own to that list.
• Pause monitoring or clear history at any time from Settings.
DESIGNED FOR MACOS
Meow Clipboard lives in the menu bar and stays out of the way. A short welcome guide gets you started the first time — including exactly which kinds of copying save an image — and a help button in the panel reopens it whenever you want. Launch at login, a customizable shortcut, and native SwiftUI throughout. Settings is organized into Appearance, General and About. Right-click the menu bar icon any time for Settings, What's New and Quit.
Available in English, 繁體中文, 简体中文, French, German, Spanish and Japanese.
Requires macOS 14 or later.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• Your library, yours to move — Export everything in one file — snippets, image snippets, menu bar icons and your settings — and open it on another Mac. Text snippets can also go out on their own as CSV or JSON, ready for a spreadsheet.
• Keep two Macs in step — Point Meow Clipboard at a folder that already syncs — Dropbox, iCloud Drive, a file server — and your snippets follow you. It stays off until you turn it on, each Mac keeps its own file so nothing clashes, and turning it off never deletes anything.
• Nothing leaves without asking — Every way of getting data out now tells you first, in plain words: what is going, where it lands, whether it is encrypted, and that your clipboard history is never part of it.
• Files that have gone are marked — A row whose files were moved or deleted is dimmed and can no longer be copied. Clicking one used to clear whatever you already had on your clipboard.
• Smaller things — The snippets tab is now called Snippets, because it never included History. A copy you just made reads “Just now”. And Preview no longer appears on rows that have nothing to read.
