Gratitude Journal Lock
Beat the Scroll: App Blocker
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Your apps stay locked until you write one good thing. Thirty seconds — and the scroll you didn't do is the whole point.
You reach for your phone without deciding to. The feed, then the news, then the feed again — and twenty minutes later you couldn't say what you read.
This puts one small thing in the way: a sentence about something good.
Pick the apps that pull you in. From then on they're shielded, and the way through isn't a passcode or a "remind me later" button — it's today's question. What made this morning easier? Who did something kind and never mentioned it? You answer in a line, and your apps open for twenty minutes. Then the shield comes back, and the next time you reach, it asks again.
It sounds like friction. It works like a habit. After a few days you start catching yourself before the app is even open — and on the days you do write, you've kept a line you would otherwise have lost. A month in, it reads like a record of a year you'd have sworn was ordinary.
Every word stays on your iPhone. Not uploaded, not synced, not readable by us or by anyone else. Your app choices stay on the device too — Screen Time does the locking, and that is the only thing we ask of it. There is no account to make.
A new question every day, your whole journal to search and add to, and a streak that counts the days you showed up: free, with ads.
Premium turns the ads off and opens the rest — your months and years told back to you, themed packs of questions, as many photos as a day deserves, and your whole journal exported as one file that is yours to keep.
