• New (Beta): work and class suspension alerts (停班停課). Get notified minutes after a county announces a suspension, straight from the official Directorate-General of Personnel Administration page. Follow a whole county or one township; "use my current location" picks it for you. • A suspension for your whole county or your chosen township arrives as a Time Sensitive alert. If you follow only a county, closures of single townships, villages or schools arrive as one quiet daily summary, so a busy day never buzzes a dozen times. • Tap a suspension alert to see that county's full board, your own area first, with the wording exactly as the government page states it. • Honest about timing and about the source: the official page runs a few minutes behind the county's own announcement, typically 5 to 12, so this is confirmation, not breaking news. It is a web page rather than a data feed, so if it changes an alert can be wrong or missing; the official announcement is what counts. • Only the county and township code you chose is stored; using your current location reads it once and keeps nothing.

• Typhoon alerts are now eight separate choices instead of one switch. Find them under Settings, Notifications, Typhoon alerts. • New: Taiwan warning alerts. Get notified when the CWA issues a typhoon warning for Taiwan, when it is upgraded to a land warning, and when it is lifted. Three separate choices, relayed from the CWA's own warning bulletin. • New: hear only the storm news you want. A storm reaching the app's radar view, a depression strengthening into a typhoon, a typhoon strengthening into a moderate or severe one, or the CWA starting to track a new system. That last one was the only alert there used to be, and it fires a dozen or more times a season, mostly for distant depressions. • New: a daily update while a typhoon is active, with where it is and how strong (with a Radar Pass). • Apart from the daily update, each alert fires once, when the moment happens. The CWA reissues a warning in force every hour or three; only a change is notified. • Typhoon alerts now show a map when held. Press and hold a "CWA is tracking a new system" alert and it expands into a map with a typhoon icon at the storm's position, its forecast track and CWA's forecast cone (the 70% probability envelope), with Taiwan in frame so you can see where it is relative to you. As everywhere in the app, the forecast is CWA's own published one, never ours. • Tapping a typhoon alert now opens the storm the way picking it from the Typhoon events list does: its path is drawn and framed, the storm's name, dates and peak intensity sit at the top with a close button, and if the storm has crossed radar range its radar replay starts (with a Radar Pass; without one the pass sheet opens over the drawn path). A tap used to draw only the path. • A lightning alert now keeps its strike marker however old the alert is, whether you tap it or hold it. Alerts over an hour old used to drop the marker and leave a bare circle. • Fixed: a storm the CWA stopped tracking and later picked up again could be recorded twice, and announce itself twice.

• Lightning alerts now build up in Notification Center instead of replacing one another. Each stays, grouped with the others, until you clear it or tap it, so you can look back over what came in during a storm. • Tap a lightning alert and the map now takes you to the strike: your alert point and the lightning framed together, with a marker on the strike itself. It used to frame the whole watched area, which showed you less the wider you had set it. Tap the marker for the time, or to clear it. • Lightning alerts now name the place, from the county down to the village. A line under the title reads something like "Gongqian Village, Xingang Township, Chiayi County", so you know where it landed without opening anything. The name is looked up on your phone; with no signal it is simply left out and nothing else changes. • Press and hold a lightning alert to see your watched area and the strike drawn on a map, right in the notification, without opening the app. • Radar Pass now also picks how often lightning alerts may repeat during a long storm, anywhere from 10 to 180 minutes. Without a pass that is one an hour. The first strike always alerts straight away, whichever you are on. The watched area can now reach 300 km with a pass, up from 200. • The alert area screen now shows the weather: the latest radar and lightning are drawn, faded, under the circle you are placing, so you can see what is actually coming before you choose where to be warned. • Radar Loop, the animated widget, can now sit on CarPlay's widget screen: add it under Settings, General, CarPlay, then choose your car, and the loop plays on the car display. It animates with Radar Pass Plus, same as on the phone. Keep your eyes on the road. • What's New now keeps a history: earlier versions sit under the current one and open when you tap them. It also stands beside the walkthrough offer rather than waiting behind it, and each has its own close button.

• A sharper Radar Loop widget: the animated widget draws its frames at a higher resolution, most noticeably at the medium size. • Lightning alerts: get a notification when a strike lands near a point you choose on the map. The area being watched is drawn as a circle over it, so you can see which streets it covers. Alerts are spaced out, so a long storm doesn't become a long buzz. • Typhoon alerts: a notification when CWA starts tracking a new typhoon or tropical depression. • Both are optional and off until you turn them on in Settings. No background location is used: you pick the alert point on a map, and pushes arrive whether or not the app is open. • Plain talk about privacy: if you enable alerts, we store your chosen point (rounded to about 1 km), the alert distance, your language and a notification token for this device. That is all, it is not linked to you, and it is deleted the moment you turn alerts off. If you never turn them on, nothing is collected, same as before. • Better with large text: with a bigger text size set in iOS, the playback panel, the map buttons and the walkthrough now stay tidy instead of overlapping each other. The clock, the time range and the Latest tag stay readable rather than trailing off into dots. • The two day-jump buttons are gone. Drag the timeline, or pick a longer time range, to reach an earlier day; the transport row is roomier without them. • The walkthrough offer now catches the eye with a soft shine, and holds still if you use Reduce Motion. Want it again later? App walkthrough, at the bottom of Settings, puts the offer back whenever you like. • New defaults on a fresh install: 4× playback and the Original color palette. Choices you have already made are kept. • When picking an alert area or a widget location, the my-location button now asks for location permission the first time, instead of doing nothing. • What's New: after an update, a "New in 1.2" button appears on the map listing what changed. Each item can take you straight to the matching setting and highlight it. It is always available from What's New, near the bottom of Settings.

• App walkthrough: on first launch a small pill offers a tour that labels every control at once. Tap a name to read what it does; the app keeps working while the tour is up. Rerun it anytime from the bottom of Settings. • Widget guide in Settings: step-by-step instructions for adding the widgets to your Home Screen, and a page explaining every widget setting. • Radar opacity for widgets: choose how strongly the echo is drawn (100, 90, 75, 60 or 45%) on the widget's Edit screen. Lightning, place names and the timestamp stay at full strength, so a lighter radar makes the map underneath easier to read without dimming anything else. • Progress bar for Radar Loop, the animated widget that plays the last few hours on your Home Screen. It now shows how far through its loop it is, so you can tell at a glance whether you are watching the newest frame or a replay of the last few hours. On by default; switch it off in Edit Widget. • Fixed typhoon forecast cones folding over themselves on recurving storms. • Smoother timeline scrubbing, most noticeable when replaying a typhoon across several days. • The locate button finds you faster, especially the first time you tap it after a while. • Settings now shows the app version, which makes it easier to report a problem.
