Found a coin and have no idea what it is? Just point your camera at it. In seconds you'll know what it is, where it's from, and what it could be worth today. Turn your camera into a coin identification tool. Coin Scanner helps you work out what a coin is and roughly what it is worth. Photograph the front and back, and you get the coin name, country, year, composition, mintage context and an estimated value range you can use as a starting point for your own research. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Identify coins by photo. Capture the obverse and reverse for a closer match. - See the details that matter. Country, year, mint mark, metal, weight and diameter where available. - Check an estimated value range. Reference figures that reflect condition and current market data. - Understand the number. Mintage, rarity, condition and demand explained in plain language. - Build a collection. Save every scan into folders and track your collection total at a glance. - Keep your scan history. Past results stay available, so nothing you looked up gets lost. - Use it offline. Your saved collection lives on your device and syncs when you reconnect. - Go global. Modern circulation coins, older currency, commemoratives and world coins. HOW IT WORKS 1. Photograph the front of the coin. 2. Flip it over and photograph the back. 3. Read the result, then save it to your collection. WHO IT IS FOR - Anyone who just found an unfamiliar coin and wants an answer - New collectors learning what to look for - Experienced collectors cataloging an inherited or accumulated collection - Travelers with leftover currency from past trips - Metal detectorists sorting through finds STRAIGHT TALK ABOUT VALUES Coin values move with condition, grading and market demand. Coin Scanner gives you a reference estimate, not a certified appraisal, and nothing in the app is financial advice. Worn, damaged or unusual pieces can be hard to match. If you think a coin is significant, confirm it with a professional grading service or a reputable dealer before you buy, sell or insure it. We would rather tell you that up front than hand you a number you cannot rely on. HOW YOUR PHOTOS ARE HANDLED Coin identification is powered by artificial intelligence. When you scan a coin, the image is sent to third-party AI image recognition and language services so a result can be returned to you. The app asks your permission before this happens, and our privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent, who receives it and how it is used. COIN SCANNER PREMIUM Premium lifts scan limits and unlocks the full feature set. - Subscription name: Coin Scanner Premium - Length: auto-renewing weekly, monthly or yearly options - Included: higher scan limits, detailed value breakdowns and full collection storage Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the rate shown in the app. You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Where an introductory period is offered, any unused portion is forfeited if you purchase a subscription before it ends. COMMON QUESTIONS Does it work on foreign and older coins? Yes. The database covers world coinage, not only one country. Heavily worn or hand-struck pieces are the hardest cases, and the app flags an uncertain match instead of guessing. Do I need to photograph both sides? One side often gets you an answer. Two sides get you a better one, because the reverse usually carries the denomination and mint mark. Is my collection private? It is stored on your device and backed up to your account, so you keep it when you change phones.
