SkewT Aero

Weather Visualization

Free · In‑App Purchases

Explore the atmosphere the way forecast models see it. Interactive weather visualization for better flight decisions. SkewT Aero helps pilots truly understand the atmosphere and what that means for a planned flight. Explore weather along your route using interactive visualizations built directly from modern forecast guidance. Compare departure times, inspect hazards, and understand how clouds, winds, icing, turbulence, convection, ceilings, and visibility evolve before you fly. Every view is synchronized by route, time, and altitude. Move anywhere along your route or compare different departure times to see how the forecast changes throughout the flight. SkewT Aero complements tools like ForeFlight and Garmin Pilot by helping pilots explore forecast guidance in greater detail before making weather decisions. Features include interactive route weather visualization, route hazard timelines, vertical atmospheric profiles, forecast soundings (Skew-T), route stations, nationwide weather maps, operational NOAA forecast guidance, offline weather and navigation data, and hourly forecast updates. Forecasts are built from operational NOAA guidance including HRRR, RRFS, GFS, NBM, DAFS, and LAMP. Rather than reducing those models to a text briefing, SkewT Aero lets you interact directly with the atmosphere they predict. Whether you're evaluating today's flight or planning several days ahead, every view stays synchronized so you can quickly understand how weather changes with location, time, and altitude.

- Save an aircraft by tail number with its cruise altitude and true airspeed; the app watches your saved tail numbers, preloads your filed IFR plans, and notifies you when one is filed or amended. - Drag your cruise altitude on the profile or Skew-T to compare winds, trip time, and icing before choosing a level. - The route profile follows your flight by ETA over real terrain, with MEA and Center MIA lines showing the minimum IFR altitude along the route. - The map adds IFR Low and High enroute charts, plus a minimum IFR altitude layer showing the floors ATC can assign. - METARs and TAFs for every field that reports them, on the map, the stations board and each airport's card, and they stay on the phone when you have no signal. - Airport cards show runways and approaches, the forecast flight category at your ETA, and hourly conditions through the next three days. - Favorites and Recent keep saved routes organized and remember the aircraft, cruise altitude, and airspeed used for each flight.
