Golf Slope Level: Green Reader turns your iPhone into two practice-green training tools: a precision slope level and a walk-off distance measurer.
READ THE SLOPE
Lay the phone flat between your feet, bottom edge at one shoe and top edge at the other. The on-screen vial runs along exactly the line it is measuring, and the reading is the tilt across your stance in percent, to two decimal places. It measures against gravity, so there is nothing to calibrate and nothing to zero.
A second view shows the full fall line: total slope, the angle, and the clock direction a ball would roll from that spot. If the hill does not run straight down your stance, the app tells you how far off you are so you can find the true fall line by turning the phone.
TRAIN YOUR FEET
Reading a green by feel is a trainable skill, and the way you train it is guess and check. Stand across the slope, commit to a number, then set the phone down and see how close you were. The app scores every read and keeps your streak.
MEASURE THE DISTANCE
Stand at the ball, tap start, walk to the hole, tap again. You get feet, metres and pace count, converted through a stride you calibrate once by walking a known distance. In Train mode you call the length before you walk it, and the app scores the miss.
SEE YOURSELF IMPROVE
Every rep is logged on device. Charts show your accuracy over time, your hit rate inside your own tolerance, your best run, and most usefully whether you systematically read slopes high or low and call putts long or short. Accuracy is broken out by steepness so you can find the band that catches you out.
BUILT-IN DRILLS
Blind walks, one-foot balance on a slope, circling the hole to find the fall line, marked reference slopes at 1% through 4%, and the two-way check.
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your phone. No account, no tracking, no data collected. Motion access is used only to read the slope and count your paces.
Note: electronic slope-measuring aids are for practice. Check the Rules of Golf before using anything like this during a round.
