Plans can now repeat — daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly — so a recurring activity like a weekly run club or a seasonal boat trip only needs to be set up once. Storm Window tracks the next upcoming occurrence and keeps assessing it automatically. Also in this update: • New: a daylight/darkness note flags when "now" or a recommended Best Time Today window falls before sunrise or after sunset. • Clearer heads-up when a recommended window falls outside your preferred hours, shown consistently in the Home card, widgets, Plans, and Siri/Shortcuts responses. • A one-time confirmation when you turn on overnight recommendations, since Storm Window can only judge weather risk — not personal safety at a given time or place. • The risk chart now defaults to bars (previously dots) on iPhone, widgets, and Apple Watch, with clearer risk-change markers — and the Watch chart now shows those markers too. • Smaller polish throughout, including clearer Maps tab icons and several new in-app tips to help you find existing features.

• Redesigned first-time setup: search for your location with live suggestions so you can confirm the right place before adding it, give it a name, and choose the activity you care about most. • Switching between watched activities on Home now updates the activity button to match what you're viewing, instead of showing the wrong default. • "Following This Plan" is now a toggle — tap again to stop following and cancel its reminder.

• Capsule-style action buttons + contextual help — Best Time Today's actions (Follow Best Time, Start/Stop Outdoor Session, Compare to Now, "Advisor can explain this window") became outlined capsule buttons, each with its own "?" contextual-help button, instead of plain glass-on-glass text. • NOAA network diagnosis fix — a captive-portal-style network failure (empty-but-valid XML response) was silently swallowed instead of surfacing as a retry/error state; now it's caught and reported properly, with a distinguishable error for non-XML responses too. • Follow My Location exempted from the saved-location cap — it no longer counts against Free/Pro/Pro+'s pinned-location limit on any tier (Free's cap did drop from 3→1 pinned places as part of this). Fixed two related bugs: Follow My Location could wrongly trigger the Pro paywall on first enable, and a downgrade-selection bug could silently drop the wrong saved location. • Home screen polish — tighter header spacing, and the "N of M" location indicator became a compact dot row (green = active), falling back to text above 8 locations. • NOAA Wind Map rebuilt end-to-end — nowCOAST deleted the WMS layer the Wind Map depended on, breaking wind speed/gust for everyone. Replaced it with a new backend pipeline off NOAA's raw HRRR/NBM/RAP data: • HRRR-based wind speed, gust, and particle flow for CONUS, now with gust as its own decoded field. • Non-CONUS coverage added via NBM for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Guam — all four live-verified working. • Broader North America coverage via NOAA RAP on top of HRRR/NBM, so the map isn't limited to those specific regions anymore. • Wind speed/gust context moved to free tier (only Flow's particle rendering stays Pro-gated), per the published capability table. • A handful of real bugs found and fixed along the way. • Terms of Use page — new standalone page (disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, assumption of risk, no-professional-advice, third-party data sources) linked from the About screen and every website page, alongside Apple's existing EULA — since this is a safety app bounded by third-party forecast accuracy. • Plans / Outdoor Session follow-state improvements — "Follow This Plan" now reflects a real "Following this Plan" state after it succeeds, persists across app restarts/refreshes (tied to the active session), and clears automatically when the session ends or the plan is deleted. Pinned events also show an "In progress" label during their active window. • Map selection + swipe navigation added to the main tab content view. • Plan window explanation wording clarified in the advisor policy.

• Outdoor Session Live Activity — Start a session from Best Time Today and track current risk, remaining usable time, and the next change right from your Lock Screen or Dynamic Island, with Extend (+15 min) and End controls. Updates keep working even when the app isn't open, and the shared session is also visible on Apple Watch. • Lightning Map is now available to everyone — the native Lightning Map, with recent radar and NOAA lightning-density context around your location, is now open to all users. • New in-app Help — tap the new "?" icons next to Best Time Today, Factors & Conditions, the Lightning and Wind maps, Plans, and the Risk Profile chart for a quick explanation, plus a new offline Help screen under About. • Risk Profile chart improvements — a new "Compare to now" view puts your current conditions side-by-side with the recommended Best Time Today window; the radar/spider chart itself is easier to read at a glance; and Apple Watch now shows which factor is driving each day's rating. • Under-the-hood reliability improvements.

StormWindow now helps you find the best time to get outside, with new activity recommendations that account for your plans, preferred times, weather risks, daylight, and changing conditions. This update also adds support for watching multiple activities at one location, improves widgets and Apple Watch views, adds new Shortcuts and Control Center actions, and makes alerts, settings, onboarding, and safety explanations clearer throughout the app. Also included: refined Home layout, improved Wind Map controls, smarter daylight/dawn/dusk timing, better risk scaling for longer activities, and several reliability fixes.

New Factors & Conditions charts make the 3-day outlook easier to understand, with trend views for wind, heat, storms, air quality, marine and cold-water conditions, alerts, precipitation, temperature, sky, UV, and comfort. Wind guidance is more detailed, with separate sustained wind and gust views, directional indicators, and clearer activity-aware thresholds. Subscription tiers have been updated with clearer previews, expanded saved-location limits, and more consistent Pro and Pro+ feature access. This update also improves chart layout, onboarding and settings copy, network condition handling, Wind Map error messaging, and overall stability.

Animated Wind Flow (Pro+) The Wind Map now shows live wind flow — animated particle trails drawn from NOAA HRRR forecast data, moving across the map in the actual direction and speed of the wind. Trails are color-coded from teal to yellow to red so you can see at a glance where gusts are strongest. The animation adapts as you zoom in or out, and the map flags when forecast coverage isn't available for your area. Lightning Map Refined the layer selector and improved handling for when overlay data isn't yet available in your region.
