Your videos are ready the moment you stop. The layout is now assembled while you film, instead of afterwards. Where a long take used to mean ten seconds of waiting, the file is there as soon as you let go. NEW: AE/AF LOCK Press and hold a view for half a second to lock focus and exposure on that spot. An AE/AF LOCK badge appears, and a single tap releases it. Just like the Camera app. SMOOTHER LAYOUTS An assembly flaw could repeat every other frame in one of the two views, with nothing to signal it. Fixed. ALSO FIXED • The front camera is upright everywhere: video, photo, and clips saved separately. • Moving the inset on screen now moves it in the video too. • Separately saved clips come out at their full resolution. • "Also keep the full uncropped frame" takes effect right away, with no need to relaunch.

Saving is now nearly instant. The layout is composed while you film, not after: on an iPhone 12, one minute filmed goes from 48 seconds of waiting to under half a second. • Measured on six iPhones and four iOS versions, without a single dropped frame • Selfies came out sideways in the layout on almost every iPhone.
