Stars & Stripes Saga is a match-3 puzzle where the pieces change with the century. Start out smuggling tea past King George III, and end up plotting a trajectory to the Moon with Katherine Johnson — 150 levels across 30 eras, each with its own custom pieces, period backdrop, and host.
MATCH THE SHAPE, NOT JUST THE LINE
Most puzzles only reward straight lines. Here the geometry matters:
• Four in a row forges a Congress Piece that clears a whole row
• A 2x2 square packs a Powder Keg
• An L or a T fires a Cannon Cross down the row and column
• Five in a line issues a Presidential Order
• Six or more sets off an American Miracle
Specials caught in a blast set each other off, so a single well-placed swap can cascade into a chain reaction. And every move counts whether it matches or not, so you can deliberately set your shapes up.
A CAST WITH SOMETHING TO SAY
Thirty historical figures host their own chapters — Franklin, Washington, John Adams, Frederick Douglass, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sgt. Henry Johnson of the Harlem Hellfighters, Katherine Johnson — and every line they speak is a real, sourced quote, with the attribution shown. No invented dialogue. King George III taunts you in his own words.
EARN A MUSEUM, NOT JUST A HIGH SCORE
Three stars on a level earns a genuine historical artifact for your National Museum: the Syng inkstand that signed both the Declaration and the Constitution, von Steuben's drill manual from Valley Forge, the Candy Bomber's parachute from the Berlin Airlift. Ninety artifacts, each with a true story attached. Some of them will surprise you.
HISTORY WITHOUT THE VARNISH
The complicated chapters are handled honestly. Andrew Jackson's era ends with a history note covering both what he built and the Indian Removal Act and the Trail of Tears. The 1918 flu chapter is played straight. You can enjoy the game without it lying to you.
