Swapback - Instant App Switch
App hotkeys, quick site search
Only for Mac

Mac
App switching works without Accessibility permission. Screenshots and Safari tabs ask only when you use them.
Swapback is a menu-bar utility that moves you between the apps, folders and sites you use most
with a single hotkey.
■ One key there, the same key back
Press Option-1 to jump to the app you assigned. Press the same key again while you're there and
you land back in the app you just left. Moving between two apps takes one key, not two.
■ Drag in, done
Drop an app or folder onto the settings window and it's registered. Real app and folder icons
are shown, so you recognize the list at a glance. Reorder or remove entries with a drag or a click.
■ Sites open by name
Press Option-0 and a search field appears in the middle of the screen. Type the name you gave a
site, press Return, and Safari goes there. If a tab for that site is already open, Swapback
switches to it instead of piling up duplicates.
■ Back to your last tab
Option-Space bounces between the Safari tab you were just on and the one you're looking at now.
■ When you forget a shortcut
Hold the Option key for a moment and your apps appear in the middle of the screen. Choose
between a dial and a carousel, with a glass or gradient background for the dial. Let go and it
disappears.
■ Screenshots
Press Option-Shift-S, drag to pick an area, and add drawings, arrows, boxes and text right where
you picked it. No separate editor window opens. Copy it or save it as a PNG — set a save folder
and it saves right away. macOS asks for screen recording permission the first time.
■ Clipboard history
Keeps what you copied for 7 days, on this Mac only. Nothing goes to iCloud, and items marked by
password managers are never stored. Clear the whole history in one click.
■ Works with any keyboard layout
Shortcuts are recognized by physical key position, so they work no matter which input source
you're typing in.
■ Light and quiet
It sits quietly in the menu bar. Switching between apps needs no Accessibility permission.
There's no account, no sign-in, and nothing is collected.
■ Made for you if
· You move between an editor and a browser all day
· Counting ⌘Tab presses gets old
· You want a few things that work, not a launcher to learn
Free through December 31, 2026. If you download it before then, it stays free for you.

■ New Settings window
Pick App Switching, Site Jumps, Clipboard, or Screenshot — plus General, Stats, and About — from the list on the left. Each feature has its own color, and everything stays clear without glass effects.
■ Choose your dial background
The dial you see when you hold ⌥ can now use glass or a gradient. (Settings › App Switching)
■ Easier screenshots
New rectangle tool. Set a save folder in Settings › Screenshot and your shots are saved there right away, without asking. The save window no longer hides behind the editor, and the save button now looks like a disk.
■ Jump back right after launch
Going back to your previous app now works right after you open or update Swapback.
■ Privacy Policy updated (effective October 7, 2026)
We updated it to match how the app actually works, including clipboard history, screenshots, usage stats, and what syncs through iCloud. You can read it in Settings › About.
