Explosive Athlete
Jump & bar speed testing
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Explosive Athlete turns your Explosive Belt sensor into a complete jump-testing and velocity-based-training lab.
JUMP TESTING
Jump height, flight time, takeoff velocity, peak force, mRSI, eccentric & concentric velocity and the shape of every jump - measured at 500 samples per second. CMJ, squat jump, Abalakov, approach jumps and your own custom types. Wear it in practice: every jump counted and measured automatically.
BAR VELOCITY
Auto-detected reps with peak and mean concentric velocity, range of motion, velocity-loss tracking with configurable set-stop alerts, training zones, bar path and full velocity/power curves - plus explosive-profile metrics like time-to-peak-velocity, POP-100 and the eccentric acceleration index.
GYM MODE
Huge numbers readable from across the floor, with instant sound feedback on every rep and jump.
TEAM
Rosters, athlete profiles with bests and trends, readiness flags, Force-Velocity profiling, session history, PDF reports, CSV export. Everything stays on your device - no accounts, no subscriptions.
Requires an Explosive Belt sensor (Bluetooth) for live measurement. Browsing, team management, history and manual records work without hardware.
more Program history: every finished day on a calendar, with what you actually did in each exercise.
How often you run it: each program now says how many times it has been done and when you last did it.
Last time, under every exercise: see what you lifted or jumped there last time without leaving the screen.
A jump icon that jumps: the arrow on the Jump tab has left the ground.

Outdoor mode: a high-contrast look for sunlit courts, one tap on the Settings header.
• A designed one-page session report with the coach's name, a verdict sentence and every jump against your usual.
• Share result: one tap makes an image of your best number and trend.
• Programs follow the athlete: cycle through the coach's days at your own pace; optional load as kg, % of max or a velocity zone, rest and notes; Home shows your next day.
• Smoother screens, numbers that settle, a What's new card after each update, and Send feedback in Settings.
1.0.16 5d ago
Cleans and snatches measured the way they are lifted: the dip and the pull, ending at the catch. No more doubled reps or runaway range on Olympic lifts.
• Raw sensor data now stays on your phone only when you switch it on in Settings, is never uploaded, and is kept for a month.
• A session restored after a crash keeps its sensor data.
• Home: tap a session block for a per-athlete summary; History is a button.
• Takeoff words on typed jumps only when the movement is unmistakable.
1.0.15 6d ago
Takeoff direction on every jump: standing, lateral or approach, with the horizontal speed — the belt now tells a block from an attack.
• Velocity: a merged paused rep is measured correctly; the Details tab shows every rep as three rows of metrics with the change against your last session at the same load; table view in Settings.
• Home: one Today box with the two session buttons, and Last activity with your last five sessions and how they compared.
• Jump: RECORD sits under the jump type again; a gold norm under every velocity metric in the info sheet.
• A badge next to the settings icon shows jumps stored on the belt; tap it to import them for an athlete.
• More breathing room across the app.
1.0.14 Sep 14
Your feedback, built in.
• Velocity: gym mode shows the number, one Set · Rep · Velocity loss row and the full bar graph; the simple rep table is back; Details grouped into velocity, acceleration and force metrics.
• Home: Record a jump and Velocity session side by side; the Today card shows your last CMJ and last velocity set against your usual, or the whole team's session at a glance.
• Export Data: pick a whole team, "Today" and a calendar for date ranges, exercise groups.
• Swipe from the left edge to go back on every screen. The Team tab stays lit while you export.
• Delete with Undo, pull down to refresh, a pulsing dot on the tab while a set is running, bars that grow in.
• iPad two-column gym mode, large-text safe, short one-time hints on each tab.
1.0.13 Sep 12
Plain words everywhere: every number, error and button now speaks to athletes, not to a lab.
• Velocity screen redesigned: full metric names, a real bar graph with an m/s scale, one colour per metric.
• Jump types named clearly (Jump No Arms, Pause Jump, With Arms, Run-Up) with a one-line guide.
• History groups everything you recorded in one morning, afternoon or evening into a single session.
• Auto-save for jump and velocity sessions (switch it off in Settings).
• Team: add several athletes at once, manage teams, and see every athlete's program reports.
• Programs count only what was recorded through the program; repeat a program week after week.
• Result moment after every jump, record from Home, belt status as the ring colour.

JUMPS
- In-game jumps are caught after a step or a run-up, not only from a standing start
- Saved jump sessions now keep the sensor data around every jump, so any jump can be re-checked later
- A lost Bluetooth frame on the takeoff or landing edge is flagged; a harmless mid-flight gap is not
VELOCITY
- Heavy, slow pulls count every rep, including the first one after a long rest on the floor
- Gyro drift on fast touch-and-go and rhythmic sets fixed: no more fading numbers late in a set
- Rep count and range on cleans with a catch are still being validated
SHARING
- Choose exactly which athletes a coach link shares; unlinking removes their data from that phone
- Export Data lists every exercise you have actually lifted
Plus a simpler layout: record button first, plain wording, developer options off by default
1.0.11 Sep 11
TRAINING PROGRAMS
- Build a program (days and stations), push it to a linked athlete or run it yourself
- Results land under each station; FINISH writes a program report the coach sees on sync
IN-GAME JUMPS
- Jumps recorded away from the phone are now caught after a step or a run-up, not only from a standing start
- Every jump shows when data was lost over Bluetooth, and the belt's own recording repairs it after STOP
SIMPLER SCREENS
- Record button first, plain wording everywhere, fewer numbers per rep
- One team filter including "No team"; History fits on one screen; athlete profile trends with a single info tap
- Raw CSV export and developer diagnostics are now switches in Settings, off by default
Plus fixes for session saving, athlete mass on saved sessions and many small ones
1.0.10 Sep 4
CLOUD ACCOUNTS & COACH-ATHLETE LINKING
- Create a free account: your athletes and sessions on every phone you sign in on
- Link an athlete with a 6-letter code - their sessions flow to their coach automatically; share everything or a single athlete
- Syncs by itself on launch, on return and after every session; account deletion built in
REDESIGNED SETTINGS
- Clean menu of mini-pages: VBT settings, Team monitoring, Sync & linked accounts, Data, App information - each explained in one sentence
- Velocity zones now shown as colored bands

Plus: import sessions straight from History, back navigation always returns where you came from, and many fixes
1.0.7 Sep 1
SHARE KNOWLEDGE
- Send an athlete or any single session to a colleague as a small file - their app merges it into their own data, nothing gets replaced
- Teams can now be deleted from Manage roster
READ YOUR METRICS
- Gold info dots across the app explain every metric in plain language - with poor / solid / excellent anchors and how to program off each one
- Jump results reorganized: Height, mRSI and Depth up front, full analysis below
- Quick start guide on first launch of every update, reopenable from Settings
EXPLORER
- Filter by weeks or a custom date range
- Tap a table row to see that session's velocity curves

- Sets overview with a direct set picker in every view; full-screen gym mode polished
- Back swipe returns to the previous tab, plus many fixes
1.0.5 Aug 29
SMART REPAIR
- If Bluetooth drops data mid-session, suspect jumps are automatically re-measured from the belt's own onboard recording when you press stop - with one-tap undo
- Jumps the phone missed entirely are recovered from the belt
- Live "weak link" warning while recording, and a confirmation when the link recovers
ANALYZE & EXPORT
- New Export Data tool (Team tab): pick athletes, dates, jump types or exercises and exactly the variables you want - CSV or PDF, choices remembered
- New Explorer (History tab): progression table for one athlete and exercise at a chosen load - sessions by date, your metrics side by side
- Velocity reps now compare time-to-peak-velocity and depth against the athlete's previous best at the same load
RELIABILITY
- Sensor self-check: a belt with a damaged sensor connection is detected and blocked from producing false results
- In-game jumps: calendar of past games and a tappable per-jump timeline with clock times
- The app opens on the Connect screen; session summaries are always dismissible; many fixes
1.0.4 Aug 27
NEW HOME SCREEN
