Splitting the bill the way it actually happened. Exact amounts in a split When the receipt already says who had what, type the figures instead of working out percentages. Fixed amounts come off the top and whatever is left divides evenly among everyone else. More than one payer Two of you put money in for the taxi? Enter it once and say who paid what. Dutch files it so the balances come out right, without anyone entering the same round twice. Nearby places, if you want them Off until you switch them on in Settings. Then a button beside the title offers the cafés and restaurants around you: one tap names the expense and attaches the place, which you can open in Maps later. If Dutch finds nothing, it offers the street you are on instead. It can also switch the expense to the local currency — a separate switch, also off by default. Dutch reads where you are only at the moment you tap that button. There is no background tracking, nothing is saved unless you pick somewhere, and you can take a place off an expense at any time. Easier to read The colours that carry meaning — what you owe, what you are owed — were measured against the contrast they need and corrected where they fell short.

New • Settle part of a debt. Tap the amount next to any suggested payment and enter what actually changed hands — for when a larger debt is being paid off in instalments. Mark Paid still clears the whole thing in one tap, and each instalment can be undone on its own. • Choose the date on an expense. Installed Dutch on day three of a trip? Days one and two can go in now, filed under the days they happened. Settle-ups can be backdated too. • Categories. Give an expense a category and the group summary shows where the money actually went — food, transport, accommodation — largest first. • Avatars. Give anyone in a group their own symbol instead of their initials. • Archive a group. Finished trips fold away into a single line instead of sitting on your list forever. Nothing is deleted, and you can bring a group back at any time. • More symbols to choose from — 48 now, for groups and for people. • A tidier expense form: the title and amount stand on their own, with tip, currency, date and category grouped below them. Fixed • Day headings in the expense log ("Today", "Yesterday") appeared in English on Polish devices.

Dutch now speaks Polish. The whole app has been translated, and the groundwork is in place to add more languages quickly. If you'd like to see yours, get in touch. Also in this update: • App Store code on the join screen — alongside the invitation QR there's now a code that takes people straight to Dutch, so nobody has to search the store by name before they can join your group. • Add a tip — split the tip along with the bill, straight from the expense form. • Pick up where you left off — a new setting opens your last group as soon as you launch the app. • Reduce Motion support — animations now follow your accessibility settings. • A more visible add-expense button, tinted with the colour of the group you're in. • A clearer expense form, with better hierarchy between the fields. • Tidier empty groups, with redundant text removed.

Fixed: joining a group from an invite If a friend sent you an invite and your phone said you needed a newer version of Dutch — even though yours was already up to date — that's fixed. Invite links now open the app properly. Invites that were already sent will start working too, so nobody needs to send them again.
